I'm going cameron on august 17th and booked (haven't paid yet though) to stay at Equatorial Cameron Highland. how is that place arr? Got it at Rm 200 per night.

I'm driving up but i'm kinda blur on how to get to cameron from subang. Any guides? I remember the road roughly only.

Btw, Berinchang and tanah rata is how far arr?
*
depends on individual
but i will pick strawberry park or century pines over Eq anyday

most ppl say that CH already hot, maybe not so cold than b4..
is it true?

QUOTE(stimix @ Aug 5 2008, 12:41 AM)
Well not really....On hot mth such as now or in May/June, the temp still averaging from a cool 24C during day time to 18C at nite and during monsoon in Dec, Temp is about 19C day time & a very cold 15C at nite..I did not experience any drop below 15C so far in CH...but at 15C it's really shivering at nite  biggrin.gif and that is not even hig up as Kea farm (1600M) but in Tanah Rata (1400M)...Well I brought thermometer on most of my Highland stays.

I was told CH experience sub 10C b4..

true indeed
dun expect it's breezing cool during daytime which have direct sunlight

Agreed wth Putraskyline recommendations. Actually most of the hotels are abit rundown oledi ...I hv not tried Casa De la rosa..but it's really look like a boutique opposite the golf course & nxt to CH Resort & always wth porche, ferrari outside the yard. Strawberry park although looks rundown but it's very clean & having gigantic 2 doors bathroom in their studio unit  thumbup.gif Heritage also abit rundown but having big room & Tmnet hotspot

I hv stayed at Equatorial in 2000, and at that time (not so old) the hotel tower room is not bad clean & big & having a small heated swimming pool. Not sure those surrounding apartments (Abit rundown & some empty units) - Equatorial is frequented by Singaporean (Lotsa them there) so can't be so bad  hmm.gif Only dun use the hotel lobby toilets & the almost deserted food court near the main road...)

If you prefer newer hotel, try Century Pine - surprising very clean, new & big room. I stayed at the old wing b4 they upgraded the multi story hotel..my only complain is the noisy running river beside the old wing & also the very early "morning call" biggrin.gif
*
Yea, Century Pines is excellent. Location wise is ok, although some of the room near new wings are noisy as its beside the main road. while the old wing are beside a mosque. but generally it's one of the best at Camerons.

QUOTE(raist86 @ Aug 6 2008, 01:54 AM)
I read in tripadvisor that Strawberry park is pretty run down (furniture wise and room condition. Can confirm that?
*
It depends on ur luck really.
some of the room are generally acceptable, some are quite good in condition.
some of them are utterly crap.

so u r saying not to try rainbow hotel huh? tried bala before? RM160 i was told by them when i called... i forgot to ask them how's their internet access in their rooms coz i need internet while i m there...
*
no, he mentioned that Bala's chalet is rather far from town.
Bala is located between Brinchang and Tanah Rata
While Rainbow is at the heart of Brinchang town

ooh.. i stayed in Smokehouse before....
very super expensive... RM 400++ per night...
nothing to shout about. food was extremely expensive.. not very nice...

Room was ok ok only.. old old dressing table, small small tv... bed with creaking sound.. ahahhaah!!!

definitely not worth for RM 400...

but the surrounding are nice... quiet... cold... not too far from town...
*
Smokehouse is a hyped up place for me
only go there to take some scones and pictars
damn spooky if u ask me tongue.gif

QUOTE(heeren @ Aug 7 2008, 12:18 AM)
i think i m goin for bala next tues with my gf... hopefully it will be a good and peaceful stay... we are goin there on a small budget... staying 4 days & 3 nites...

called them jus now... they sounded so monotonous when i was making my reservation...

i chose bala mainly coz it looks quiet thus should be free from noise pollution and slightly cleaner air...
*
during weekdays
most of the place are quite peaceful not only Bala's chalet

which hotel to stay than since so many negative views but have to base on my budget also..

my budget is below RM 200 since almost all the cheap hotel is.

my requirement is simple and that is must have fan, no mosque, quiet ,relaxing and nice greenery landscape.

what hotel will that be?
*

Strawberry got not much scenery unless u consider forest view as scenery
as for equatorial u got more scenery as in farms and its more open scenery (facing outside)

Equatorial

Thx stimix.

For WaterCrest Valley, you definately came across it if you drive from Triangkap to Brinchang. The set is pretty value for your money. We took the RM40 with 4 course (fry waterrest, soup, haruan fish, omllete)

Well Kea Farm as usual crowded as you approached from both direction. Watch out when you drive.

Staying at Dhalia along the main road is pretty noisy. As you can heard the car zooming uphill to brinchang from Tanah Rata. And the car park is insufficient at Dahlia, come back early else you end up park outside.

Moving up to brinchang from Dhalia you notice Straberry Park Resort which is 10 mins drive from mainroad and we did some discovery there, well to my surprise i should have book this instead of Dahlia. The surrounding is ambient and very suitable for relaxation, just like you visit europe!!!.

At Tanah Rata, Century or Heritage seem to be a good choice for place to overnight,

One thing i found on the shopping for vegetables, watchout some stall at Kea Farm selling rotten vege...you need some sort of experiences in selecting.
First Time visiting Pasar Malam at Brinchang, two rows strech along the main road. The stall mostly sell straberry and corn(mutiara) and i found the kuih kak is not tsaty but smell good, satay is okie...while the steam ubi is nice during cold evening.

After all the wether still is the main attraction for Cameron.

hi, i have few questions wanna ask regarding transportation to CH
1)if i were to take express bus up CH from kl, does the driver sped and drive recklessly up the hill and down the hill?
2)and will the bus ticket fully booked during raya?

thanks mate..planning a trip up with few mates..smile.gif
*
1) it's not like they only have 1 drivers, so it really depends on the driver himself, can't comment but normally they are in moderate speed when i saw them
2) most likely

*
OK Tuck is so so only
