usually those old taxis driver they charge 3 hours for RM 50. its more convinient to stay around town if u dun have ur own transport. Daniel's Lodge tauke soh Ms Karen can help u find apartment. 016-5422249 . btw i might be going there too next saturday
*
wow, 3hrs for rm50 is kinda expensive. Its will made up to rm100 for eight of us. Still self-driving is still the better option eh? hav u been to Daniel's Lodge? care to give some review?

Btw thx for the contact.

Hi guys..
I'm planning to go to Cameron this April. Maybe for 3D/2N. This is my first time to go there. From my research about accommodation there, the Strawberry Park is very nice, but expensive since my budget only RM200 below for a night.

Do anyone here has stayed at Bala's Holiday Chalet? Care to give comment about Bala's Holiday Chalet. From the web, it look very nice (my wife love English design cottage) and the rooms rate also in my budget. Thanks in advance.

Bala's is a nice place.. had tea and scones there during my last visit though I stayed in equatorial..

IMO, staying in a chalet / resthouse environment like Bala's is the best and lets you enjoy the true nature of camerons rather than putting up in a hotel like equatorial/strawberry farm etc.. biggrin.gif

I just finished reading this whole Cameron thread. Hahaha! Thanks for u guys, i got so many info about this place.

May i know where is the entrance for the Gunung Brinchang? Dangerous or not? Will we stuck in the hill???

From what i see from u guys, Century Pines & Strawberry is the best, right? How much for it now?

I stayed at...Rosa before, the condition is not really a good choice, try others.

I plan to go with my gf this coming May, may i know where have the best steamboat in Cameron?

Which restaurant got ying yang steamboat? Which food will b nicer, fresh n better?

I plan to stay at Century Pines, any problem there? As i see from the Heritage page, their room quite old n not nice but Century Pines are not bad...how about Strawberry compare with Century Pines?

Both restaurants also offer Ying-yong soup + herbal soup too...HK retaurant also famous for curry fish head.

On Hotels, I stayed in all the mentioned hotels ..and the best still strawberry although abit old. - I stayed at the old wing of century b4 the add the new wing and I can tell u the old wing is just beside the stream & not far from the mosque...so abit noise pollution-lah....Heritage is nice also and for me although old but better than the newer & noisy/ tiny room century (Old wing-lah)..Straberry is high on top of the mountain summit ..so the sceneries & the size of the room is great...The Bathrooom is as big as the whole room itself! shocking.gif biggrin.gif
So my recommendation- strawberry

For time saving & cost effectiveness as I go up CH almost 4-5 times yearly, nowadays I only stay at budget Hotel wth attached bathroom which cost me <RM70/nite...I like Twin pines & its sister KRS guest house...deap inside the alley at the back of Tanah Rata Maybank..no need booking..always available even during Hari Raya, CNY or Cristmas!

Yeah, i stayed there before, not the ideal stay, not worth for the $$$. Good luck!

Sounds Strawberry Hotel is the best but which wing i should choose? New or old wing? Strawberry is located at Tanah Rata?

Strawberry is abit old & authentic swiss design...no new wing. the new & old wing thingy is Century pines...& I forgot to mentioned that strawberry is abit far on top of summit of a mountain in between Brinchang & Tanah Rata....so u really need transport as the road leading up to strawberry is abit steep & far away from the main road. Not adviseable for those without transport..it's about 4km away from both Bringchang & Tanah Rata!

For convenient & nearer to Tanah rata town....suggest getting Century Pine..walking disatnce away from the town. Heritage u need to walk up the hill unless u can find a shortcut via the convent school in front of Tanah Rata town biggrin.gif

BTW, saw your earlier query on how to go to Gunung brinchang...first go all the way to Kea Farm. After 1km from Equatorial, you will reach another road side stalls There is a signboard going to Boh Tea Plantation - Sg Palas & Gn Brinchang..turn left at the only junction at the road side stall..Be carefull as the road can only accomodate 1 car or 2 kancil at a time...so u really hv to be carefull here..once u reach the junction about 3KM from the main road, to the right is Boh Sg Palas & to the left is to Gn Brinchang from this jucntion it's only ~5km uphill to Gn Brinchang.....A must for those going to CH...That's the highest road in Pen Malaysia at 2033M or 6666ft! nice view up there..

Yup. just take note when u reach a quite huge U-turn corner
right before the corner is the entrance to Gunung Brinchang.

the signboard will shows Micro station gunung brinchang.

u wont get lost there.... there's only 1 road leading to the peak

Bro stimix, 1 Q i wanna ask u is...after 1KM from the Equatorial have the only junction on my left hand side with a stall there??? What kind of stall plus may i know after 1KM from Equatorial is which side? From Kg Raja or Brinchang??
As i referred to the info here, the road are very very bad, is it? Now still the same? The road are all the way up to the Gunung Brinchang or we still need to walk up? Will we get stuck in there? Is it safe? shocking.gif

Bro stimix, u stayed at Century Pines before? How was it? Oh ya, now only i know that the Strawberry Hotel is so far if u din tell me so. sweat.gif
