go by the new road.. Simpang Pulai...safer at least the corner you can see the car opposite you coming...Tapah like Chou Meng Shan!
*
Aiyoo, the Tapah road is safe lah! Nobody ask you to drift to the top. Taking Tapah way saves you 80 minutes driving and also lesser toll charges. If you are really scared of blind corners, honk your horn lorrr.! doh.gif

Ystday i pakai simpang pulai...kepong to there about 250km...7 hours..damn jam up there..even when i leave at 9pm it still bumper to bumper about 7km to the top..
*
My God! rclxub.gif 7 hours. Even if we drive to Raub and then to Cameron will not take that long. That road has beautiful views as well, in fact better than the view in Simpang Pulai/ Cameron route.

I'll be visiting Cameron Highlands on a 3D2N trip from 20th - 22nd Aug 2012 with my family members (total 6 of us). Any recommendation for a good, CLEAN apartment? Preferably below RM300 per night. Thanks.
*
Your planned date is really far ahead. I doubt if any apartment owners willing to get booked this early. Anyway, you can contact Ah Ling at 05-4915306 or 05-4911328. She has two units three bedroom apartments in Carnation Park in Tanah Rata. The last time I used her apartments, the fittings are still nice but your date is 7 months away. laugh.gif Cooking facilities are there, hot water and Astro but you have to bring your own card.

thanks for the headsup stimix  smile.gif 1.5car road wide  sweat.gif  i hope the banks are not that steep for my bodyKit  cry.gif

p/s wonder if can rent a motorbike there in cameron instead  rolleyes.gif if there's not , thats a good biz opportunity  tongue.gif
*
I think there are a few bumps that are high enough to scratch your bodykit after the guard house in the Boh Plantations in Sg.Palas. Since you are travelling on a Saturday means there are less lorries on the road as Saturday is their designated off day (for the vege collection, most but not all). If you ride a motobike in Cameron Highlands, it will be too chilly in the early mornings and also late evenings. I have seen those kapcai gangs riding up there and then take shelter in my car and don't want to get out. Seriously! It was drizzling at that time.

is it will be easy if first time drive on that area..?
i mean the road and sign..??
if around bentong will be familiar for me...
but going to sungai koyan and pos betau...
is it easy..?

and i'm from KL....
always use simpang pulai route instead of tapah route...
any suggestion for food up there..??
halal food...
going to stay at brinchang area...
*
For halal food in Cameron, there's nothing fancy, except in hotels. There's a Nasi Kandar in Tanah Rata beside Starbuck's. BUT in front of it, there's a row of food vendors (Malays) and the makcik nasi campur, the first shop is the best among all. The one with the 'cha koay' stall at the front. It's not the best I have eaten but in CH, it's OK. Better than having meals at the Indian shops or Jasmine or Surya Restaurants. In Brinchang, there's another shop frequented by local Malays. It is on the first floor (but actually ground level from the back) above another Chinese coffeeshop. It is along Strawberry Moments. Strawberry Moments is at the other end.

Other than that, it's the Indian restaurants along Tanah Rata. laugh.gif

Subject 01, 02 and 03 is OK but 04 is not really suitable for a 2 year old kid. I am not sure whether it is open yet? Anyone? I am not really confident on the spa services here. laugh.gif If the place is still closed, I doubt you can climb the tower unless it is the tower near Taman Sedia (forestry department). All and I mean all steamboat in CH is so so only with many falling into the losy category. laugh.gif I think it is hard even for a mountain bike, let alone a folding bike. Usually MTBers rides in Habu and very seldom near EQ. icon_rolleyes.gif

PS/ I am doing hiking in G.Rajah Bentong and after that I will be driving to CH via the same route on the 18th. I am just driving a Kancil 850, so I let you know by then. laugh.gif

Plan to do a photo shooting with model at the strawberry farm in Cameron Highland. Not sure which is the best month to go so she can pluck strawberry. Any idea?
*
Strawberries now like other common CH crops is not seasonal. The maturity depends more on the the span of time planted till picking. Some farms plant them in stages do they are available whole year round. If the ones that opens to public are not fruiting, you can always look for the ones where they plant it strictly for commercial. You can ask permission for photographing since you are not picking.

Hey, I would have a vacation on Cameroon Highlands with around 22 pax, so interested to look for Bungalow which able to fit in 20-22 pax. Does anyone have the contact? Appreciate that
*
Why don't you contact Eu Yan Sang? The owners have a bungalow there and they do rent out daily BUT with the caretaker there. Or contact 016-6015787 (William )
05-4957827 (Jessica ). They also have a bungalow in Brinchang but I don't know if they allow 22 persons. The numbers might wreck the place. laugh.gif

I planning to go Cameron on June and be arriving on Sunday.. However when I search in the Internet, I gt info that the night market did not open Sunday? Is it true? Can anyone confirm this? Thanks....
*
Unless it is the school holiday season, then the pasar malam in Brinchang is only on Fridays and Saturdays. Sundays the pasar malam is in Tanah Rata but not many stalls. There are also pasar malams in Tringkap, Kg. Raja and Ringlet on some weekdays, can't recall which days for which village. The villages pasar malam is targeted at locals though and only the pasar malam in Brinchang is tourist targeted. laugh.gif

*
It has been launched eons ago! Are you anticipating accident? Better take public transport if you are such a bad driver. hmm.gif

Hello guys, I am planning a family trip to cameron to coming school holiday. It's 13 people, is there any cheap and nice apartment for rent? I will be going on weekend, most preferably is near town lar. Need two rooms which can fit in 13 people, and also hot water supply!
*
You either need two apartments or a bungalow for 13 persons. Unless you spend the day with bodies all over the apartment. I think many apartments are mentioned at the former posts and even the most 'chokia' hotel in CH comes with water heater. It's a must in CH, so don't worry about hot water.

Aiyoyo! you all describing driving as though the road to Cameron is like going for a 4WD adventure trip. As long as you are a careful driver and also not like the Ah Beng's in Vios or Myvis then any road is fine. Both roads or all three roads for that matter is safe, I mean really safe. It is the drivers that are dangerous! rclxub.gif In fact driving via Tapah is more safer due to the attention you will be giving to your driving and slower drive but compensated with a shorter distance if you are from KL. If you are coming from Ipoh or going to Ipoh take the Simpang Pulai road. Choose the route because of the location you are coming from not driving skills or more likeyour confidence in your driving. icon_rolleyes.gif

BTW, bro, frm Cameron, which route to take to Sg Koyan & how's the road condition?

Yesterday drive from Kota Bharu via Gua Musang - Lojing route for 4 1/2 hour.
*
From Cameron to Sg.Koyan > Raub > Kuala Lipis, you need to drive to Ringlet. Just before entering town from Habu, there's a left turn to Bertam Village (before the Shell petrol station). The route starts from there. There's signboard, no worries and also it's a new road, so the condition is OK since no lorries uses it at this moment.

Although the temperature is going up in CH, there are times when the place is cooler. The coolest time is almost near the CNY which is coming round the corner. Yes, it does hit averagely 11 degrees at night BUT you must also consider the place. Places like Tanah Rata and Brinchang, I doubt so. The coolest place in CH is namely Kea Farm and Tringkap comes next. I have stayed 3 years in Tringkap and there are times where you really feel happy to be in the sun!
