that one above was done using what you see below...
metal zone into the Korg PX-4 for the amp simulator...metal zone simply just cos i feel like it tongue.gif
with a better amp simulator i could probably make it sound more bluesy...

and yea, there is alot of gain on it...the next mp3 is using the EMG81 at exact same settings.

Brilliant example of how simple music is still the best. Less fancy guitar stuff and more music. He and that trumpet solo of his are just ... shocking.gif notworthy.gif

The rhythm stuff he plays is actually complex. The samba-ish timing, tone and feel is equally impressive. thumbup.gif Not to forget he's singing at the same time. notworthy.gif

I have seen a different video where he plays 2 different solos with the 'trumpet' and guitar simultaneously. thumbup.gif I would've looked up Youtube for a similiar video but it's just too slow. sad.gif

i was referring actually to the arrangement. No fancy bridges or rhythm chops or weird chordal voicings. The rhythm sounded more towards funk than samba to me. But equally impressive.

Buy a book on guitar scales and start from there. Learn what's a major scale, minor scale, pentatonic, arpeggio..... all those stuff.... But start with the major and minor scales.

Work on your fingering and your timing.... get a metronome to help you get synced with time.....

the Vox AD30 should be a good starter for efx, myself i generally dont use efx much anymore, prefer straight distortion/overdrive.

just one thing tho, the Vox footswitch is sold seperately.
and for efx, i will always avoid zoom no matter who says how good it is.

there is also the roland cube30, which supposedly has heavier gain tho i never tried, not bothered.

and clean 30 watt amp for rock/metal? what metal is played clean? tongue.gif

Argh, I was thinking so that the multieffect would have a clean sound to work with sweat.gif

Blacktrix: Thanks, will check them out

well actually i had a suggestion...while u practising go as slow as possible...dun haf to follow the timing...juz go slow and make sure u fingers move to place properly...it will sound abit ackward at the beginning once ur fingers get used to it...then eventually things will go easy...this is so called "no tempo practice"

i read this from a book called "correct practice for guitar",i've tried it myself n find it very useful...i borrow it to my instructor n he also its a very good book..

thats a very common method.
reason is to make sure you fret properly first, then once you can fret cleanly, start practicing with the metronome.
