I tried that amp at CK two weeks ago..

it doesn't have a clean channel..or at least the clean is distorted...thought of getting a replacement for my amp but guess I'll wait..

It has been there for the past 2 years lol. hmm.gif They lowered the price end of last year but I don't think anybody bought it. biggrin.gif
I don't mind having one but RM300 seems steep to me. hands.gif tongue.gif

And Blacktrix, I didn't know you enjoyed listening to an old man singing covers. tongue.gif But yeah, the American V album was pretty good, though not something I would want to listen over and over again... depressing. biggrin.gif

That's the whole point Led_zep...... you listen to be depressed.
His vocals are really haunting.... and his last original song, Like The 309..... can really feel the sadness. Can literally SEE the tears flowing out from the speakers.

And no one commented about my Jessica Rabbit????

Ooooooooooooooh. Xmas smilies!!!

Haunting yeah, but sometimes the voice doesn't fit the song, like on Bridge Over The Troubled Water. The duet sort of spoilt the song imho. But I love the Nine Inch Nail cover... Hurt, it's far better and haunting than the original imo. laugh.gif

Hell yeah. That's an AMAZING song. Even Trent Reznor says that it isn't his song anymore. He can't ever call it his song. It's now Johnny's song.

Dammit, I just listened to the GT-8 demo on youtube, done by Marty Friedman. It sounds pretty darn good for a multi-effects. Has anyone tried it personally? Compared to stompboxes, what do you think of the sound quality?

I was with my Vox Tonelab SE, MXR ZW-44 OverDrive and ZW-45 Wah, and he was using the GT-8 with the Weeping Demon Wah....... Totally New sound VS Old sound.....

I think Zoom G9.2TT and Line6 PodXT Live is the new generation is multi effects unit, but ppl using GT-8 give me an impression he/she is PRO. GT-8 looks rocks and pro.....what's the market price ya..?

Well, nowadays multi-fx units are getting really complex and sounding much better..... compared to just a few years ago. Even stuff with Tube technology like the Zoom and the Vox are sounding much warmer......

It's only the distinction of what you actually NEED that boils down your choices.
The Vox is a great amp modeler and some old-school FX, but sucks at the newer effects (like the pitch shifter) and has no recording features. The POD XT live is a great all-rounder.... but doesn't really excel in anything. The Digitech Workstation is an excellent recording unit and the effects and modeling are pretty decent.... the Zoom has the best digital effect, and average recording & modeling...... and the GT-8 has some of the better all round effects, but not so good amp modeling and I don't think it has recording features.

All depends on what you need really.

the reason why is that other multieffects are simpler to set up. for gt8, u need to be familiar with different parameters for each effect as there are so many things to tweak with the gt8. most beginners will end up frustrated or getting bad sounds out of it because of that. i get alot of ppl owning gt8 asking me how to setup and use certain features on the gt8.

zoom G9 is still quite easy to tweek the fx, if u have own a zoom multifx before...the downside of it that it got a very weak wah...quite a bummer if one's to use it's wah most of the time...

well, the G9 is good for ppl who like high gain stuff, and like to mess around with digital fx...

i used to have a few boss stompboxes.
distortion, metalzone, chorus, flanger, phaser, pitchshifter/harmonizer, EQ.

i got sick of all of them, now i rather just plug straight into a good amp.
i do feel like going to get the boss SD-1 tho, no has nothing to do with zakk tongue.gif

also i do have a multi-fx now in the form of the small korg pandora px4, but even that i only use the distortion and clean sounds, apart of cos from the metronome/rhythm section and tuner.

I heard blacktrix mention about Ceriatone. I went to their website. Do they have a shop or something?

Since it's xmas.... I won't say anything about searching the forums.....

CeriaTone
http://ceriatone.com/tlbrBorderSub/contact.htm
they build replica their own marshall, fender, vox, etc amps for a "cheaper" price, with execllent quality. It's a DIY spirit, but they can assemble the parts for you if you want. All tweakings possible !
ssslayerrr bought one and wes very happy with it.

Merry F'ing Xmas.

Everdying....... if the SD-1 fails to give enough boost, check out the ZW-44 Overdrive...... basically the same design as the SD-1, but with a higher output. AND it's cheaper then the modded SD-1

And besides the Marshall 1960 Cabinet, would there be any cab that would go well with the Ceriatone JCM800? Thinking of something CHEAPER..... budget is spiraling out of control.

well, i've read quite a few reviews saying the ZW-44 switch craps out after awhile, basically the build quality isnt up to what BOSS is.
