QUOTE(blacktrix @ Mar 10 2007, 07:38 AM) And as for the sweet child tone..... common..... I just played with the settings for less then 30 minutes. I'll try to use Amplitube 2 and see if I can get a better tone. I tried to emulate Slash's overdrive in the intro, but obviously THAT failed. I then took that model, turn up the gain abit more and slapped in an Overdrive pedal (this is all done using gearbox software). Wanted the solo to be much more crunchier then the original song. |

u guys will have to realise blacktrix plug his guitar straight and used a software only for the amp modelling. the warm classic sound wont be achieved with those EMGs on his LP. lol. also, u can clearly hear that theres some 'dead' ness from his finger tone too.

QUOTE(blacktrix @ Mar 10 2007, 07:38 AM) NO! Don't connect using headphone! i heard the demo, it was good! especially the harmonics at the end.If your amp doesn't have a balanced line-out (or simulated Line-Out)..... don't EVER use anything else! ok my amp has only 3 ports, cd/tape input, guitar input and headphones. guess i can't connect straight to my soundcard? : ( QUOTE(echobrainproject @ Mar 10 2007, 11:54 AM) u guys will have to realise blacktrix plug his guitar straight and used a software only for the amp modelling. the warm classic sound wont be achieved with those EMGs on his LP. lol. also, u can clearly hear that theres some 'dead' ness from his finger tone too. deadness ? |

deadness...
kinda hard to explain. u know they always mention about 'tone is in the fingers'? well, its how hard he hits the strings with his fingers, how long he holds a note, his picking strength, pick direction, etc. u'll be surprised how much fingers can change tone. just join the LYN jam and when u see players just swap turns using the same guitar and setup the entire tone and feel changes. |

I'm Sorry sweet Tooth.... Maybe Next Gathering. Since we have so much more people, I still want to rent out a hall, and every body brings their own amps and a drum kit.
But yeah, I just did it in one take, which is why i didn't Bother adjusting the tone alot. Will work on the ''deadness" |

[rant]Well well well Woh Fatt will once again regain their infamous reputation of providing horrible service. Since Bentley still haven't started carrying Slash's signature wah so i though of testing the Sx Strat. This led me to woh fatt. There I was, in the shop, I requested to test the guitar to get a feel and to get an idea of how it sounds. Everyone in the store asked me, "Are you getting it today?" "If not why don't you come back when you want to buy." One of the ladies was even worst. "No you cannot try if you don't have intention to buy." All was said in Cantonese. I wonder why I even bothered to ask so many of them. Damned ret@rds. [/rant]
Ugh, such a black spot for a pretty good day. Went ck music and tried this Hamer jazz guitar [ess-335 copy i think], flame maple neck, lightly figured quilted maple back and plain maple top and side. Plugged into a line6 spider. I was pretty surprised on the warm rounded tone. However, I was expecting a much brighter tone, so i was kinda disappointed. The amp, well..... i didn't like the sound at all. then one went to smx to test the simon and patrick guitar acoustically it had pretty good projection, but tonally it wasn't really deep enough for a dreadnought. back and sides were made of wild cherry, neck im not sure, and rosewood fingerboard n sitka spruce top. the b-band pickup made the guitar sound awesome once it was plugged in. worlds apart man. [self promotion] oo btw guys, i recorded a clip for the vox ad-series thread, leave some comments =p [/self promotion] lol This post has been edited by sean392: Mar 10 2007, 06:23 PM |
