Hey there, any of you observed how far can the saga go after the fuel light is on? Does it come on at a set amount of litres? One time I pumped full tank from fuel light and it came to about 31 litres. So does it mean there's still a quarter left in the tank even when the light is on? Because of this ive been living the thug life quite often ahah
usually yes, left about 8~9litres in the tank when fuel warning lite up. However, the buffer size is 4~5 litres only, which the fuel pump will be having trouble to sip the balanced of the tank. If you strain it, it could kill your fuel pump prematurely. Having said that, after fuel warning lite up, you're still safe to drive another 30~40km to the next petrol station. Not recommend anything above that.
I can't find the morale of why utilizing the balance of the tank of petrol would make your life tougher. Does it mean if you see the yellow light up go fuel up will make you poorer? Even if you fixed it every 150km go fuel up RM35, does it make any difference? Or risking to kill the fuel pump will make you save more petrol? In my opinion, it doesn't really matter. If you're going to fill up full tank, just go ahead and do it everytime. At this point of time, I guess you're already used to the mileage of your car, probably about 320km ~ 350km you must go and fill up full tank already. Lemme guess, by the time you saw the fuel warning lite up, your trip meter is at 300~320km. You usually drag it until 350km sometimes 380 if can't find petrol station. At times you fill up to 35litre, but you still don't get to fill up full 40litres. And you're always wondering if you try to drag 450km, whether can you fill up 40 litres. Is that what you're trying to say? Trust me, before you get a chance to fill up 40litres full, your fuel pump already koyaked.
Stay safe, try to fill it up before/right immediately when fuel warning lite up. Fuel pump is not expansive, probably can get it replaced within 300. But just because of trying to get the maximum range in 1 tank and lose the fuel pump, seems extremely stupid to me, unless that's your life time goal to achieve - stranded by the road side due to fuel depletion.

V12kompressor to put this in 1st page for future reference. This kind of question being asked many times, I don't mind to reply. It's just that need to let user know it's not worthy to challenge the traveling range. I've seen enough Plotong Wajunk goes for 500km/tank that killed their fuel pump due to starve, and in the end when people talk about Plotong, it automatically become a plobrematik kar
