I have been reading some articles about the EPF 8% vs 11% deduction and would like to get clarification on one particular item:
All this while, I followed the Jumlah Pendapatan amount under my EA form and put to Pendapatan berkanun penggajian. This is inclusive of the 11% EPF deduction.

However, from the above statement, it suggests that I should deduct 11% from my Jumlah Pendapatan and declare it under Pendapatan berkanun penggajian instead.

A simple example is: For total income RM100K, 11% deduction is RM11K. On the BE Form, should the Pendapatan berkanun penggajian be RM100K or RM89K?

Thank you
*
Only for PCB calculation is based on net salary.

For BE should always be gross salary and the 11% you contributed will count towards as your relief.

Okay thanks. So I have been doing it correctly. Just a but confuse with the statements in the article.
*
Yup. Don't get confused by PCB calculation and the BE submission.

And in this example if you put net salary in BE you just over claim your EPF relief by more than 5k.

Other issue is..

Say i pay year 2014 zakat on feb 2015. I will claim it under 2014 tax refund. I just call LHDN and they said this is wrong since i should claim it under 2015 tax refund, not 2014 .

Ive been doing this since 2010..

Im not cheating since i got all the receipt..If got caught how ?

How to handle CP500 ?? Totally no idea n freak out. Need to pay so lumsum for last year tax ? How they calculate n know need to pay this amount since haven't declare
*
It's an estimate for this year 2016 tax. Most probably based on last year tax you paid.

If you don't agree you can revise the estimate tax using CP502 before 30th Jun.

There is indeed a special relief of RM2,000 given for aggregate income not more than RM96,000.

That is what I have read(forgotten where I read this). They said that regardless what the insurance pays, it is considered as your money and it is claimable. Can anyone help to verify on this?
*
Logic thinking :-

Insurance pays your medical bill and charged out as their cost.

You never paid the medical bill but still wanna take up as your own cost.

So I don't think you can claim as your expense/tax relief.

Medical insurance is a tax relief expense.

I would like some advice.

If I only calculate my day job as stated in EA form, I would fall into the 16% bracket. But there is also some Nirvana Memorial sales commission about 80k under my name. If i add this into the tax it will bump me into the 21-24% tax bracket. The amount I need to pay jump from 3 digit to 5 digit. Is there any way for me to reduce this amount? Maybe not for 2015, but in the future.

Nirvana sales commission still counts as a taxable income tax right despite it being in a funeral service sector which as far as i know is gst exempted.

Thanks
*
GST is not related to your personal income tax.

Yes the commission is taxable. Well, if there is any cost incurred to generate the commission will be deductible. But bear in mind, not all expenses is allowable.

Max out the tax relief that you are eligible. Donate more to LHDN approved organisations. That is so much you can do to minimize the tax / lower the tax bracket.

i notice in this year's Nota Penerangan, seems that the premium on medical insurance is claimable for self, wife and kids.

I don't remember seeing this in previous years, has it been like this all the while?
*
I know we can claim the insurance relief for kids.

But for wife maybe you need to do combine assessment.

Eh, I thought the cost incurred to generate the commission is only deductible in cases where the tax is filed under company and not for BE. Correct me if I am wrong.
*
Are you working for Nirvana as an employee? or an agent?

And what kind of cost you incurred? Did Nirvana paid you back for what you have paid?

agent. so we r not directly under the company. more like a outside sales contractors.

No, expenses cost repayment by nirvana. Purely commission based.
*
Well, looks like a business income to me.. You could deduct the expenses against your commission income.

My gross on last years is 56k and pcb total pay rm1500

Need to pay more or wat?

You have to file for your tax first. And most likely you will have a refund.

*
Erm.. I don't quite understand

You mean your tax relief doesn't minus against your aggregate income? Or your own calculation differs against their calculation?

Hi guys, its again time to file for taxes. Just did mine and almost fainted on the amount additional that need to pay on top of monthly pcb. This is due to commissions paid by comp didnt go through pcb deductions. I've actually set up my finance to pay additional per month on pcb but i guess it's not enough.

Is there any way to request to pay off the balance in like 6 mths installment? If need to hand out one lump sum, i'm going to KO already as most of it is tied in investments.
*
Maybank credit cards do offer 6/12 month installment.

Or maybe you can write to IRB and tell them your situation see they approve or not..

Hi guys,

I just register income tax number thru online and just got my income tax no: SG 021234567890 (similar EXAMPLE)

I realized the number is 12 digit long. However it seems when i want to register for the pin, it only allows me to key in 11 digits. so should i removed the 0 in front become SG 21234567890?

Please advise.
*
You got to get the pin from IRB office. Try call see whether they can give the pin to you through the phone.

Quick Question: Can we choose not to do e-filling for 2015?
Because for last year, we are choose not to do the e-filling and assume the PCB deduction by employer is correct.
*
Whether PCB correct or not you still have to do the e-filing. It's your responsibility as a tax payer to declare your income.
