Question:

If i (malaysian) work with singaporean company which don't have any office in Malaysia and do some work in malaysia (few months), also do some work in indonesia and australia, the salary paid by my employer in singapore, do i have to declare the income received in malaysia to IRB? or should i just declare to IRAS?
*
when u do all the work. u stay in Malaysia or u go to Indonesia & Australia to do the work?

if all job done while u in Malaysia, then u needed to declare to IRB Malaysia icon_rolleyes.gif

hmm.gif NO yearly bonus, monthly allowances or BIK stuffs, commission, etc ?
if in borderline cases, it is best to go get a tax number and do e-filling...just 10 min and it is all done. till next yr.
if it is way below the 34K then no need-lah
*
yeah. Better be on safe side. LHDN waiting chance to give penalty or do audit to find extra collection. Don't play play with tax-man tongue.gif

I'm a bit unlucky. Two months back i was informed by LHDN that I owe them few hundreds tax money. after clarify at LHDN counter (went there few times), the officer told me that they found I have additional RM30k income in year 2009. That's why I have outstanding tax amounting the few hundreds to be paid.

Definitely I don't have the 30k additional income, and I have no idea how they found this additional income. The officer have no idea either..... LHDN promised me they will investigate and let me know what went wrong....

yesterday, i received letter from LHDN (cc to me) instructing my employer to deduct from my salary for the outstanding payment! no investigation result or whatever reason explaining my earlier doubt!

spent so much time and efforts meeting them, at the end i still have to pay for the so call additional income! if they say i have additional 300k income then??

anyone have same experience?? how u resolve it? or we hv no choice but to pay and close case???

so sad to hear.. Try to nego with them again..

MoF looking to tax online business, including Uber drivers
QUOTE
"We need to tax these people who are also earning an income which is taxable.

"Otherwise, it will be revenue lost for the government with more and more businesses going into the sharing and digital economies,".

IRB, which had formed an online business and commerce division, is also working with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), as part of the  evaluation.

"We are also interested in getting those undertaking online businesses to register with the SSM, to enable us to track how much they earn," he added.

Irwan also said a study by the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) on Uber / Grab part-time taxi drivers, showed their earnings could reach up to RM7,000 per month, which is taxable income.

finally got my money, sharing my process here  wink.gif

Mar 03 - E Filing
Mar 22 - received letter from LHDN about delay in tax refund
Apr 08 - head to LHDN shah alam and submit my document for audit after listen to forum member this can faster the refund process.
xxxxx - call in bi-weekly basis to check audit statusand finally they mention 'dah selesai', wait for another 2 week for refund
May 19 - received letter about i need to pay them 60++
May 20 -
1. call LHDN audit department to confirm the 60++, they mention they just to calculate and send letter, checking PCB and get balance is not their role, then give another number (bahagian peruntungan)  blink.gif
2. call bahagian peruntungan about my balance, they say audit is done, LHDN will pay me back rm590 after deduct that rm60. Ask them when can they refund, they say is not their role, give me another number (bahagian payback)  ranting.gif
3. call bahagian payback, they say payment not in process, and confirm my case can close, so will now process my payback (the process is not automate???). vmad.gif
May 26 - call bahagian payback again because not received money back yet, and they say the status is approved on May 24. Ask me to wait about 12 days - 30 days  puke.gif
May 27 - Money finally in  rclxm9.gif

QUOTE(Darth_Maul @ Jun 3 2016, 06:44 PM)
Greetings all,

I went to LHDN to submit my Pemberitahuan Pemberhentian Kerja form, (leaving my current company). When I was finally attended to, the officer informed me that I had 2 years of undeclared income for 2009 & 2010.

2009 I was running my own sole prop business, where the revenue was so low that I didn't bother/forgot to submit, but all documentation and bank statements, invoices complete. Just need to submit the Borang B.

2010 I was making the transition from self-employed back into employment, so left the business to my partner to handle. In the end, the business failed and company closed down, losing everything along with all documents, bank statements, invoices, receipts. In hindsight I should've went back to the company to collect all the files before the business closed. I was under my own company payroll but kept all payslips in the office and were eventually lost.

From 2011 to present day, I've been submitting Borang BE and doing proper filing. But what can I do about tax submission for year 2010? Haven't got audited yet (touch wood) but was thinking of settling it before they come knocking...

try to nego them on the tax payment.. meet them. slow talk. follow up time to time

sure they will offer something good icon_rolleyes.gif
