My tiny room will always be heated by my Sapphire R9 280X Vapor-X when I'm playing games with temps reaching 70+. Processor is i7 4790K with Scythe Ashura. Will an upgrade of gpu reduce the amount of heat generated or should I switch to a liquid cooling solution?

i want to build a small form factor pc bro with lotsa horsapowahh, but hell yeah new drivers

higher voltage but lower temp? hows that possible?? 
reapplied new thermal paste?

I got around that 12.5k GPU score in 3DMark but mine running at 1150/1500   

Mine only R9 290, cannot find the BIOS for Tri-X/Nitro 390 

I'll just leave it for now.

I don't know, but I think I'll defer my GPU purchase for now - the prices of GPUs right now are not looking good....

bro im having issues with project cars with the latest drivers, the game just displays crazy triangles and i cant see the car, u having any issues, other games just does not have any issue 

i get the screenshots 2nite, crazy colours and funny polygons coming out. Btw im loving asseto corsa more than pcars  . engine noise is so real

if these problems occur because of vrm overheating, could aftermarket cooler like Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV can solve it?

how to check vrm temp? asus gpu tweak and HWmonitor doesn't seem to show that

at default clockspeed and when playing AAA games like GTA 5, Shadow of Mordor, Witcher 3, artifacts sometimes occur but not frequent and it's usually on the lower right of my screen but graphic glitches always occur..plus sometimes flickering..

only able to minimize those problems when downclocking the GPU to 1250MHz-1450MHz.. 

so regret buying this gpu, i was under the illusion it perform on par with GTX770 but cost less..I didn't research further about it's problems beforehand..

The bolded hertz is referring to VRAM clock or GPU core clock?

Official specification from Asus is ;
GPU Boost Clock = 1070 MHz
GPU Base Clock = 970 MHz

Hmm....if it is VRAM clock, wouldn't setting back to 1500Mhz (Hynix chip original frequency rating) will solve it for his gpu?

He ought to update his vbios first before playing around with vram and gpu clocks.

Apparently someone at rog forum measured the 280x default (before vbios update, not sure with the new vbios yet) voltage of 1.6V for VRAM voltage.

I downloaded the .zip file from Asus website and after extracting it and then execute the application, it just says "your gpu no need update vbios"

i have checked techpowerup bios archive and it seems my vbios is the latest version

....so what now?
