hi to all that upgrade ur n80 to ie firmware, did u guys noticed that when browsing with the nokia browser, it is so fast can get out of memory error? previously on the old firmware, it takes som time b4 the error comes up, just today only i have to keep clearing the cache and restart the browser to continue surfing, nokia should have included more rams in the n80.

about the memory problem,just close it n open again then will works for the same webpage/website?
what type of website cant open totally actually?

i m now using FExplorer to kill open processes that is not needed, i managed to increase the amount of ram to 15 mb, the old level, but now it has dropped back to 11mb, but it is worth a try using the nokia browser uses 9mb of ram i think( around that amount laa), if attempt to open another window when the ram is under 8mb, sure out of memory pop up

While we on this topic, would like to share with you about the lag and card speed issue.

I experience lag in symbian all the time, after u load up tons of application. It's because the os require to read certain information about each application b4 u enter any menu. Usually the first time enter menu after your reboot. I think this is to safely distinquish each memory card plugged in. (imagine some user use more than one card).

Of cause a good and fast memory card will help, but i always wondering how fast should I get before i hit the bottleneck of the phone read/write speed on the card. I try to search information about the phone memory card reading speed, but nothing useful.

I did a test on my DNA mini SD. I did both test on phone (mass storage) and seperate card reader. If anyone of u willing to share, please provide your card r/w speed also. To see how fast can N80 handle.

It shown that the 2GB Adata is slower than DNA. on phone it only hit 700++kb.
Your card reader is very fast, compare with mine. But still couldn't find the higher speed(bottleneck) on phone.

Let's see others result.

For n80i.. original set is about 1.9k? is there any lower?

well, hope u wont pay double for that little speed gain.. I see some card(branded) is twice expensive than those cheap one.
but theoritically speaking, if any card r/w more than 1 gb should have a same result in the phone. It doesn't make sense to me about your test result if the bottleneck is kept at approximately 900kb/sec. If u have time, just do a quick retest. should have the same result as me and survivor.

  the n80 cpu lacks a image/ hardware accelerator unlike the n93, so that probably explains the lag.

its there available any virtual keyboard application for n80i? so when we reply msg, we no need to slide it up. I did search but only found for old series 60.

Window live messenger, Turbo msn using WLAN each time make my phone slow down because can't connect to the WLAN at last need to restart phone. Do this problem happen to u all?

it's not the limit. I have 2k sms b4.
I also tried to store all sms in card b4, but it was very slow.

For symbian, there is a thing call "memory leak" problem. The phone memory will getting lesser from your last reboot and style of using. there are no positive way to prevent this at the moment(as far as i know la). The memory leak wont get too serious if u have lesser background program running.

The best way is to reboot the phone periodically.
