Yes, i do agree on this.Previous slider model as in 6270, 6280 and the 6111 do have numerous complaint before about their loose slider and they are spring loaded.Maybe its just a case of preference of some liking it to be spring loaded and some not...

Anyway, i had checked the prices of N80 lately in the garage sales and notice that the original N80IE is even cheaper than the normal N80 version? Was there any way that can lead us to know how to differentiate between the IE version and the normal version?Different box?Phone labeling?
*
if im not mistaken, the IE edition would have the words "IE" beside the N80 words on the phone itself..and maybe the box also lah smile.gif

QUOTE(miumiu @ Dec 28 2006, 05:35 PM)
how is the camera(n80) compared to n73?
*
the n73 would win cuz it has autofocus since the n80 does not have AF laugh.gif

N80i = N80IE[which stands for internet edition btw] laugh.gif

for the N80IE ori set would be around rm1.9k+ while the normal version is slightly more xpensive if im not mistaken..around rm2.2k for ori set smile.gif

recommended shops?go to nokia authorized dealers laugh.gif

Is the internet edition just different due to the firmware?  Or does it differ from hardware too?
*
yeah just the firmware is different thats all..added some features like VoiP over WLAN and all that smile.gif

@xooper
i dont think an original nokia battery could be that cheap..for me i was thinking around rm50? laugh.gif

QUOTE(silencer @ Jan 7 2007, 11:38 PM)
I guess the price difference for n80 and n95 will be around Rm1k-Rm1.5k, and as a new phone, normally it will takes sometimes for n95 firmware to be tuned to perfection. As for N80, it is working without any problem now, if compared when it was launched about a year ago. My advise, if u have the patience and money, and for latest buzz, go for N95 which will be available in 1-2 months from now.
This is just my opinion....
*
QUOTE(Survivor @ Jan 8 2007, 12:03 AM)
It's all down to what u want and how much you are willing to pay for it. As silencer said, the price difference between N95 and N80 will not be small, thus the question will be down to what is ur budget for a phone? As a new phone, i believe N95 firmware will be buggy...do u have the patience to wait?  cool.gif
*
n80 was my dream phone ever since it was announced laugh.gif yeah i do agree that when the n95 is here it'll cost at least rm1k more then the n80 now..looks like the n95 would be my next year end's phone tongue.gif wait for the price to drop till n80's range.haha

QUOTE(edkiasu @ Jan 8 2007, 09:05 PM)
Wait for n95 or buy n73 instead of n80 if wifi doenst really important for u.
*
i would have bought n73 long time ago if it wasnt because of its lack of wifi laugh.gif

Phones from China always give some surprise to us, the Xun Chi 138, the ZTC 321. This time, the ASK T806, a Nokia N80-like Mobile Phone. The ASK T806 has a 2.4-inch LCD touchscreen, a 1.3 Megapixel camera which can record videos in H.263 or MPEG4 format, built-in MP3 player, hand writing recognition and a MicroSD slot.

The phone is priced at HKD$2380, but in fact you can get one with HKD$998 in HongKong right now.

According to Phone Daily HK , the Dual stereo speakers pretty good  thumbup.gif

holy sh- they actually copied the n80's design 100% shakehead.gif damn this people nowadays copy anything from cars to phones doh.gif

but the specs seems very mediocre in comparison with the real n80 laugh.gif

The insufficient memory is due to the old firmware, they fixed the problem with the latest firmware. Go and update ur firmware as soon as possible  thumbup.gif

The display color of N80 is 252K wink.gif
*

QUOTE(vampiric @ Feb 9 2007, 05:06 PM)
err... i was using latest firmware on both version. one work one doesnt.. so i also dunno.

the browser, try to turn off cache, it should last longer. heavy surfer will cause memory problem... common... also try lyn lofi version. that's wat i do.
*

Technically speaking is it worth it to get a silver N80i which i resent since i love the black pearl model. Or is it better to get the N80 black and then do the firmware upgrades to N80i features. Even then i suppose this would not guarantee the VOIP features right.

Damn sienz, can find the N80i in black color tho altho i've read it in reviews it does come in 2 colors also.
*
im currently using a n80i black pearl edition tongue.gif

As i rmb some1 post a site about that b4 in this thread. Try to look back... smile.gif  Even without the I bside ur phone, but that doesnt matter also wert. As long as it is an Internet edition and not voiding your warranty is already ok.

Oh yea...may i know your N80 is an ap set or zitron?

mine's an ap set n80i smile.gif

The usb or memory card is safe to pull out when there are not reading or writing activity.

And yes, N80 internet edition should have a i after N80.. check my signature u will understand. .... .... ....
Ok, i lied. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY DIFFERENCE ON HARDWARE. no "i" after N80.  rclxm9.gif  Black and silver should be the same. should try both, the furnishing have some slight differences.

N80 internet edition just come with build in VOIP, but it doesn't mean u can easily set it up(depend on router). there are other application support VOIP like www.fring.com
*
haha no wonder lah..even the box pic of the n80i does not have that "i" on it laugh.gif
btw i've already set up Voip.but yet to try.my fring is all haywire now i dont know why doh.gif

can anyone tell me what's the latest fw version of the n80i?is it the same as the one stated on the 1st page? unsure.gif

My phone dealer had only N80i (bronze). When i ask got black he said that is for only N80 and no longer available as far as Ori set in concerned.

If so can some one tell me what 2GB miniSD card i should buy? at least i can use it as an mp3 player.....

Thanks for all your help guys
*
i suggest you to get those high(er) speed miniSD like those Transcend 80x 2GB miniSD.its retailing at rm110 at lowyat plaza.unless you want to save money and aren't really bothered about the speed then you can just get the normal ones eg Kingston for rm65 laugh.gif

its very easy.lets say if you have a wireless router at home, just open up your web browser and choose the access point when they ask you to.it'll scan all available networks including 3G,GPRS/EDGE and wifi smile.gif then just select the wireless connection and enter the password if there is one smile.gif
