Just paid my down payment balance yesterday for M3 HS. My SA said no such thing as deduct NCD from downpayment. Have to pay full insurance then claim back NCD from Berjaya Sompo.

Wanna ask you guys did the same way too? From my experience with other car brands all can deduct NCD from downpayment. And usually how long does it take to get back my NCD refund.

By the way, do anyone of you think the light throw for the xenon lights seemed rather short? Mine seemed to only go about 1.5 car lengths and slightly more on the left side. But the angle seemed quite broad though.

Mazda driver area does feels like a BMW car and more polish design...

but the price and trade off for less comfort really a big turn off... my wife is the first to shout NO...

imagine a 155cm woman also cannot tolerate the back seat area size ...

The only thing that i missed is the Cruise control of the high spec. Since i am travelling outstation frequently. City driving would probably have more usage of the iActive sense.
However, driving for more than 10 years....without all those iActive Sense... so for my case it doesn't mean much to me.
But do keep in mind what are the usual mistake you have that causes accident for you, iActive sense may help you with that. Even with iActive sense it can't guarantee you 100% there wont be any accidents.

HUD is a clear mirror, so it won't interfere with your driving.

JDM Teknik is doing this but you won't like the price (RM2.1K last time I inquired). For navigation better just stick your smartphone to the windscreen. Or you can pay Bermaz to upgrade your MZD to navigation status.

Wait, I thought HS comes with Navigation as standard package? Why need upgrade?

Not recommended as the Navi sucks. hahaha... While apps such as Google Maps or Waze allows you to key in "Sunway Pyramid", the Navi in Mazda requires you to enter full address, in eg as below.

Street Name: Jalan PJS11/15
Postcode: 46150
Town/City: Petaling Jaya
States: KUALA LUMPUR

I find it is very lousy to use. If you have the full address, then it would be useful to someone like my dad, who doesn't has data or using smartphone. I helped him to set the destination, and he just drive accordingly.. 
About answering phone calls, I am actually pairing it to MZD (bluetooth). I find it useful when I am driving and there is incoming calls. So when there is incoming calls, I will just use the MZD to answer.

But it will be different story when you are fetching your friends or somebody else, you may not want to disclose who is calling you or the content. Who knows mana satu awek or amoi wrongly call your number... 

Just got my m3 GL today, very nice but felt instant regret when i saw the post on the comparison between HS and GL head/rear light 

Don't mind switching but i think would be very expensive

Still looking for bodykit (front skirt , side skirt, spoiler) /rim options though.

I've finally decided to go with Mazda 3!

I got a couple of questions

1) Is the HS spec really worth it? Any GL owners got regret?   

2) There is optional accs which is SkyTint Film for RM1900.00, is this a good tint and worth it or should I go outside to do tinted?

3) Are there any special offers/gifts from your SA, especially right now is year-end. I asked at Johor bahru showroom (permas branch), no rebate or anything  , only thing they offer is free leather seat upgrades if I'm buying GL

Well look at it this way. The GL is the same engine and same body as the HS. All the important safety features including reverse camera and USB/bluetooth entertainment/telephony system are included in the GL. The extra gadgets are nice but not necessary for you to enjoy your car. Besides you should get slightly better performance and FC than the HS due to lighter rims and lighter body (due to less gadgets). And don't forget you saved RM15K.

I changed all the major light bulb :

Low Beam : H11 - Osram Cool Blue Hyper + (5000k - white)
I find this is not totally white, but of course it's much whiter compare to stock original halogen bulb.
I find it bright enough. Note : As said from the website, this is not approved on public road.
But, since our Projector can control the beam height, I always use level 3 to reduce glare to car ahead in city drive.

Fog Light : H11 - Cree LED (6,000k - white)
As shown as photo - really bright & white. But little more hard to get the reflector to work properly. But worth the effort spent.

Fog lamp casing DRL - White color & turn on when car is start.
This used to be very bright when it's on and whenever i go into parking basement, it's much brighter then the original yellowish stock fog lamp. But not until I change the fog bulb to LED.

Position/Parking light : T10 LED White bulb
Got this from Mr DIY for RM7.50/pair (5 diode). Easy to install, really bright & white too.

Last bulb to change is the High Beam lamp - HB3 or 9005. Plan to get the Osram Cool Blue Hyper + too.

But like I said, the Osram bulb wasn't totally white. Hope it's not that bad in rain. 

Hi all!

Newbie here, hope you guys can help me out with some questions.

1) Do I need to turn off aircond before starting the car?

2) The Rear view monitoring (RVM), can I turn off the beeping sound or make it softer?

3) Mazda provides 3 year free servicing but is there any wear and tear that I should be aware of that needs to be paid out of my pocket? Eg. 2 years need to change battery/tyre etc. and the cost of these items.

4) I got the car and it's quite bumpy, possibly because it's over inflated, what tyre pressure do you recommend? I tried looking for tyre pressure monitor function but not available, I guess this doesn't come with the CKD HS model?

1. AFAIK the 2016 M3 if anything like USA it's the same design wise, but rear view camera is standard now among all variants plus a lot more other features previously only available to high spec at lower prices. Read somewhere that they redesigned the seats and somehow the perforated seats can absorb more road noise. Improved torque and fuel economy. No new colours. Paul Tan mentions that diesel variants are being brought in also, not sure if the M3 will be one of them. Again, don't take my word for it. I haven't got my car yet, wonder if I can wait a bit for the new 2016 model. Also, certain countries are already offering 3 years UNLIMITED MILEAGE across all Mazda models. If they do, 2015 models are eligible

Haha, good thing I put a disclaimer then. I don't see any news regarding the 2016 model, but as I've yet to sign my loan yet I wonder if I can still hang around and wait for the new model to arrive or is that wishful thinking?

My friend told me his friend who drove a Mazda need to wait for MONTHS to get his tyre replaced due to defect. I am aware our tyres are an odd size, but is it that difficult to get a 18" tire around here? I thought the factory is based here should be easier no need to wait for import etc? At least not that long la. No car for a week also I will die already, what more months? If it were me I'd ask them to loan me a car or pay me for my troubles

I think this colour looks good depends on what is it under ... if it under shelter it reflects slightly dark aluminium .. if under bright sky it becomes "Proton Sage" silver
