No I never ... I only take them out when I need it ...but do u guys stick the holder on the windscreen ?

If you only take out your smart tag at toll gates why need to stick the holder to your windscreen? To pass the toll gate just hold in your hand or put on the dashboard. No need to advertise you have a smart tag in your car.

IInm the cbu has better interior finishing, led headlights etc so is more comparable vs the hs ckd instead of gl. Lacking mainly the safety feature eg lane departure, auto braking etc which, if you are decent driver you won't really need right?

I sat in a gl before and honestly, didn't like the interior quality at all..felt plasticky

Pls correct if I'm misled. Thanks.

Edit: superficial, but cbu also got soul red and amois seem to be impressed by sun roofs tongue.gif

The Mazda 3 CBU is equipped with bi-xenon headlights like the CKD HS. Sun roof is really pointless for our weather. My previous car had a sunroof and I never used it. Even on a cool day you cannot open the sunroof and off your aircon or you'll still sweat.

Buying a second hand CBU M3 at about the same price as the CKD M3 GL is not worth it. The CBU owner is pricing it based on his purchase price minus depreciation but it is accepted that when the CKD comes out CBU owners have to take a steep haircut. Don't forget a new M3 comes with 3 years warranty and 3 years/60K km free service.

cbu doesn't get warranty? Assuming I'm talking about a 1 year old cbu.

Anyway you're right but somehow the novelty of soul red with sun roof really attracts me. Can't help it. Maybe I'll try nego to sub 100k and see.

The M3 CBU specs is somewhere between the GL and HS. It has 18" rims but fabric seats. It has HID headlamps and climate control but no shift paddles and no reverse camera. The GL is equipped with leather seats and reverse camera. The CBU also lack the Smart City Brake, Rear View Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning and HUD of the HS. I consider sunroof and i-eloop to be not improtant features.

To me the fair new price of the M3 CBU should be midway between the GL and HS which works out to:
(105 + 120)/2 = 112.5K

Less 20% depreciation for a 1 year old car: 112.5K x 0.8 = RM90K

Maybe you can top up a bit for soul red but 90K would be a fair price.

Just went 1k service this morning, using semi sync oil which is provided fr Bermaz.
But I was offered upgarde to fully sync oild with top up another 2xx.
Does anyone using fully sync oil ? Does it really make any diff ? In term of fc and performance.

I don't think it is worth it. Sem-synthetic is good enough for your engine as you are not subjecting your car to high stress level like motosport racing. In terms of service interval you can't lengthen the prescribed 10K km/6 months either to make fully-synthetic worth it.

Hi all sifu, really struggle to choose between GL spec and high spec. for me I can live with without HID, 18 rim and all those auto gadgets such as auto rain sensor, auto cruise, HUD and etc.

Things that make me hard to choose are those safety features such as smart city brake, RVM and Lane departure warning since I am buying this car primarily for my wife to drive.

can all sifu here share with me your experience on using these feature?

1) RVM - Does it really helps when you do lane switching? will you find the signal too general since it is not only monitoring the blind spot but the general vehicle behind you

2) smart city brake - does it helps during parking if says I am stepping on the pedal slowly moving forward adjusting my car position

thanks for advance

If you can live without the HID, 18" rims, HUD, DRL, navigation, power seats, paddle shifts and auto gadgets then I advise going for the GL. All the essential safety features are the same between GL and HS.

The RVM and SCB are nice but not essential for the average driver driving with reasonable care on the road. The SCB does not help with parking. The LDW is totally not necessary in my opinion. You should not need an electronic device to tell you you are changing lane.

It's your call but if only the RVM and SCB are important to you I wouldn't pay RM15K for them.
