For me I would choose Mazda 6 anytime as it is value buy from all aspect. Be it safety, driverity, performance , low petrol consumption with a bit sacrifify on harder suspension in return of better handling.

If u can afford to wait for CKD early next year expect another 15-20k down from current price

And it come with 3 years warranty and 3 years or 60k km free service which ever come first

Due to Long Distance Travel needed, Altis im not sure with the Comfortablity, but as i had try on my Dads Old Camry Yr2000 i think, its quite Comfort for the passenger ride and there are 2 aircond Straightly at behind while Altis are only 4 Aircon at front, Might go for Test drive on this sunday

Im driving Altis so i can tell u its pretty comfortable (although somehow driver's seat kinda awkward i cant seems to get good position).
Altis 2.0 pickup will definitely wins Camry 2.0.

As for aircond, it should be good enough for rear passenger unless ur aircond is faulty.

Hi, Current Mazda 6 of CBU unit directly imported from Japan. CKD is referring to local assembled unit.

Based on recent launch if CKD Mazda 3 at 125k (high specs) and 109k (lower specs) from earlier CBU unit which was selling at 139k ... thus I am making assumption when M6 is assembled here the price should drop around 15k ...

The same for cx5 earlier ... first launched at 150+k for CBU unit...now the entry spec of ckd cx5selling below RM130k

If just want to go with 2.0 NA engine, better just buy C-Segment cars (Altis/Civic/Mazda 3/etc2.)

Teana 2.0 should hv 10k discount as of now... mean below 130k can get a basic model with 6 airbags ... a very comfortable car same as Camry if not better but 20k cheaper with extra safety features ... Camry 2.0E with price tag of RM150k not even come with VSC which is an important active safety features ... what a shame ...

Hi

First of all CBU (Completely Build Up = Fully Imported)
CKD ( Completely Knocked Down = Local Assemble)

I've been considering Accord 2.0 Vtil and Mazda 2.0 on my last list after 3 weeks of survey. I too travelling from JB-KL almost once in 2 weeks time. I'm 6 feet tall and comfort is everything for me. I did test drive accord and it didn't let met down. Here's my comparison.

Performance : Accord can't beat the DOHC and Fuel Saving by Mazda 6.

Comfort : Accord ftw plus you have kids now, the leg room is much more better then
Mazda, as that guy said , Mazda is driver oriented. 100% agree.

Safety = Mazda of course with 6 air bags vs 2 air bags

Warranty = Accord ftw, unlimited 5 years vs 3 years

Handling = Mazda, cornering is the best feature from Mazda.

Service Network = Accord, more Honda service network compared to Mazda

Resale Value = This is quite subjective but sure Honda still has better resale value than Mazda but Mazda is rising now due to its quality

Value for Money = Mazda, you spend for what you wanna own and Mazda has more package offered compared to Accord.

But my advice go for Accord since you are a family man. Me, after all the hustle, I choose Accord because of the RV, Comfort, and Unlimited 5 years Warranty.

P/s Have a look on comparison in the youtube and from paultan itself. Much better, go for Test Drive.

Thanks for the info and spec comparison
But i had narrow down my choice into Toyota Family after i heard an advice from my friend who open the workshop and foreman, he recommand Toyota dur to its 2nd hand value and cheaps and easier gather spare part, the most important is highly Reliable....

Reliability of cars are much to be desired for modern days. There are cases where Toyota cars also having reliability issues, I would say it's more towards your luck.

I owned a Nissan, Honda and Mazda. Reliability wise, Nissan still the best. Honda famous for its' suspension/wheel bearing issues. As for Mazda, still pretty new. So far so good.

With regards to you selection then, between Camry and Mazda6, I will definitely go for Mazda6. Will only consider Camry 2.0G if it comes with VSC and more airbags.

Yup I also own 2 Nissan now and previously owned a Honda. Reliability wise Nissan is much better than Honda for sure. And for Mazda I would b able to comment 3-4 years later as my family members just get a M3 recently but I would say it wouldn't be far from other Japanese made and Toyota also recognise the beauty part of SkyActive engine and going to collaborate with Mazda for their future engine development.

By the way 2.0G is come with VSC but not 2.0E which is an important active safety feature. For me I would never favor Toyota car in Malaysia in view of UMW way distributing Toyota car...
