aiks.. i bought round trip... from siam paragon to chak tuk chak station with MRT only rm3.50. but sadly, no digi line in bkk:( luckily my maxis was working there... each sms i was sending out was rm1.45.. the calls i made is rm10 with 2 minutes. rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
you should use there IDD rates. i think on your maxis. you dial 100. and a list of services should come up. then press 1 i think. whatever the one with the assistance or help or something. then there should be some sort of roaming assist. hahah. sorry its not detailed. but they give better rates if you dial through that maxis service instead of straight from your phone book.

i also looking for hotel..not too fussy about the hotel..as long is cheap and convenient.. i going early march..

about the thai girl show, by the way u guys talking about it, seems like its illegal..i tot its an atttraction of thailand.. so i wont be able to find it easily??? if go watch pondan show is legal?? but pondan no need do show oso i feel geli already la
*
hahahaha. yeah it is illegal. to my knowledge prostitution and the whole red light district in thailand is illegal. however it attracts sex tourists. and in turn fuels the economy so the government doesnt do anything about it. from what i hear about the thai girl show.... it would be illegal in any country. even on other planets maybe. hahahahaha.

i never got to see pondan show. supposed to be very good. its a cabaret. there is one... aiya forgot where. but its called calypso i think. seemed pretty big. anyone here been there to give review? maybe you can google it.

hahahah. buddha day. king.... yeah lah. the king thing is pretty funny. did you buy the royal shirt? on friday i think everyone wheres the yellow "king" shirt. hahah. and they all stop when the kings anthem is played. also in the cinema they will play the kings anthem at the start and play a short video clip of the king before the movie and you gotta stand up until the song is over doh.gif hahahah. INSIDE THE MOVIE THEATER! crazy.

Its Monday actually, when people wear the yellow shirt.  The King is prolly one of the more respectable royalty you'll find in the world.  Very charitable and open minded.  If you understood what they do, you wouldn't really think its crazy at all.  No offense, but our royalty really should be a bit more like the Thai royalty.
*
oh my bad. i think i got the friday thing because today is friday. hahahaha.

yeah. in thailand the king is the most revered man. probably of all the kings in the world. i talked to a few taxi drivers and they would start crying when talking bout how the king is getting old and stuff like that. its really amazing. like vermins said. compared to malaysia. only recently has the royalty here been more active. since the elections last year. other than that usually they just sit idly in their nice homes and nice cars. nod.gif

i just think its a bit odd that im going to go watch a shootemup type bloodbath filled with sexscenes and what not movie and i got to stand up and pay respect to the king in the theater before the movie. that i think its a bit odd.

floating market and grand palace. last time i went floating market the boat stops everywhere. we just paid for floating market dunno how much and we stopped at the zoo type thing and also the palace. i think it was the palace anyways. you pay like cheapo entrance fee. except the zoo was a bit pricey like rm10+ i think. not sure. i think the rm300 is a bit of a ripoff. . you can join other boats if you want i think. although more fun to rent the whole boat to yourselves hahah.

Its simple, if its too expensive and they won't go any cheaper, then go find another boat keeper, till you find one you happy to pay for.   I usually find that if they are friendly and helpful, its extra marks to paying them more, though I'd give the extra after the ride.

9000 baht is a bit too much and sounds exaggerated.  Its just a boat ride, not a cruise.
*
i finally got back to this thread. yeah 9000 baht is ridiculous.
if he says that just laugh and walk away. dont even bother to bargain. its probably less than 1000 baht.

www.virtualtourist.com

this site should really help you estimate the prices. just read all the comments and posts

the paragon underworld is much better as compared to ours.
ours was so bad, they couldnt make money and they had to kill all the poor fishes.

if you are already near JJ market.. don't bother going over to Suan Lum unless you wanna have beer at their beer garden or watch Muay Thai.
*
i heard the underworld is really expensive. never been yet.

yeah suan lum is more expensive. but its open everynight. so if JJ is closed already then just go there. beer garden is cool. with some light entertainment with performers and bands every night. i like the place.

he means dun go suan lum because you can find everything at JJ wat. even illegal animals.

but if you wanna just go hang around there to eat and watch the concert i recommend suan lum. i prefer suan lum for shopping though. its a bit more expensive. but its not hot and also has less people.

theres a little arab town near nana station. all the arab foods like kebab and stuff. there all got the halal food. but outside that area its quite difficult. some markets got halal food stalls. dunno where though. my sis used to buy a bunch of stuff to keep in her house. maybe that was JJ. hmm.gif

im goin with my friends, 5 of us (all girls) is it safe for us to hang out until 11pm?

taxi in bangkok can fit 5 person?  sweat.gif

Added on February 17, 2009, 12:10 pm

any MPV taxi in bangkok, that can fit 5 person?
*
not familiar with that hotel. from my experience it is safe to hang out at night. although im a guy so its a bit different. shouldnt be a problem i think. you'd be taking a taxi home at that hour anyways right. i dont think they will allow 5 people in a taxi. its quite cheap so just grab 2 cabs.

...im scared of dogs though. thailand got lots of dogs. at night its hard to see them shakehead.gif so scary cry.gif
