Actually the timing of sunset similar to M'sia since located almost on the same longitude but different timing..If M'sia dark at 7:30pm (Normally is the case) so does Bangkok..dark at 6:30pm due to the time differences.

Dun worry-lah, once u arrived, just check wth the info counter where to board the budget taxi rather than the expensive limo. Almost similar concept to KLIA & LCCT, those budget taxi located downstairs from the arrival hall (Can't remember which floor already & not at arrival hall area)

Normally those budget taxis are Bangkok taxis that fetching travellers to the airport & thereafter they wait for the que & I was told there is a surcharge or commission to be paid to the Airport authority (Can't remember how much but probably ~50bath. So they will bring u to your hotel using Meter (Yes) which will be around 250bath therafter they will charge u ~50bath airport commission & also the toll if u ask for tolled xpressway ..BTW, the Toll rate is not cheap in Bangkok...If I'm not mistaken I paid 2 tolls which totalled ~80bath to arrived at Bangkok jam free within 30min! So total taxi rate to downtown Bangkok ~RM38 (+ toll & also airport taxi commission)

Take it easy-lah...Although I know the location of that area but I personally (probably panda too) don't really been there b4...who knows, the traffics from RamKhaheang towards Bangkok is OK? - Probably u will consider paying for toll-way rather than congested streets. I took toll ways few times already in BKK..so far not really jam until reaching the sumkhumvit/On Nut area..

Hotel tour arrangement for sure more than the one u get outside or shop around. They earn commission as an agent to another bigger agency. There are travel agencies scattered around BKK, I heard the cheapest are at Khao San road. not far from Grand Palace. So u probably try there on you way to Grand Palace. From my past reading in Virtual tourist website, ppl saying u can bargain till 800bath/pax to goto floating market / Ayuthaya.  BTW, u should goto Floating market as well...something unique there although..yeah u probably seen it b4 in TV..
