QUOTE(mt24 @ Oct 8 2015, 05:23 PM) is pocket wifi necessary? Depends on your definition of 'necessary.' A pocket wifi is most certainly not mandatory; you can get by with just spotty wifi hotspots and asking for directions from random strangers. But for me I always rent so I can whip up a quick google search or directions whenever things don't go exactly as planned. Anyway reporting in from Sapporo/Otaru. Today the weather farked up our plans entirely. Rained the whole day + winds were the Destroyer of Umbrellas kind. Saw aunties and salarymen getting soaked after the winds turned their umbrellas inside out lol. |

QUOTE(Kanan Jarrus @ Oct 8 2015, 10:05 PM) but what is your initial plan in Sapporo?? shopping or just jalan-jalan? QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Oct 9 2015, 12:10 AM) end of summer... normal la Oh, issit normal? lol. Today the winds and rain continued but at least reduced slightly enough to walk around otaru canal and sakaimichi street (and experience ยฅ500/hour parking charges) and visit cape kamui for lighthouse photo. ![]() QUOTE(mt24 @ Oct 9 2015, 08:54 AM) what brand u use? and the rate how? I always use this one. Whether it's the best or not I dunno cos it's always been good enough for me so I never bother trying others. http://www.globaladvancedcomm.com/pocketwifi.html Yes it is not cheap. For me it's worth it to have 24/7 internet access for multiple devices, but if it's out of your budget like I said it's definitely not a necessity. |

Lipoting in from kurodake 7th station mountain hut. We intended to climb to the peak, but after 15mins turn back liao, too icy too slippery didn't come with the right shoes, decided it's too high risk of slipping on something or getting frostbite so turn back to hut and drink ใณใผใใผ and ใณใณใข.
Lesson learnt don't turn up to an ice / snow trail wearing onizuka tigers LOL ๐ This post has been edited by deodorant: Oct 11 2015, 09:36 AM |

I drove for 3 winters in Buffalo (NY) where snowfall is sometimes measured in feet instead of inches
Anyway lipoting in from hoheikyo dam. Weather is screwing with us again. Rain rain rain strong winds rain rain then a few minutes of sunshine to take photos before the winds blow even more rain and get us soaked. ![]() After that drove to jozankei and fuh rain rain rain again so just day-check-in to one of the hotel to use their onsen and wait for next burst of sunshine ... QUOTE(wjboyz @ Oct 14 2015, 03:03 PM) my budget is around 10k(not including flights) for me and my gf. (is that enough?) For me, I won't spend that many days in Osaka. Consider going to Nara (my waifu and I like it a lot) or Kobe (we went to eat kobe beef. Refer to front page daikor's tips for which restoran is gooding). Anyway ... for anyone planning a trip to Hokkaido, make sure you go Noboribetsu, and make sure you stay in Dai-Ichi Takimotokan. The onsen, holy crap, legendary view ![]() Oh and the bear park is pretty damn fun also (but macam mahal gila ... all in like 3000yen/pax, dafug). |

KNN Hakodate Ropeway closed for maintenance and the bus queue panjang gila lol.
Anyway RegentCid sacwoc tomorrow my flight from CTS to NRT is 5.10pm. Jetstar check-in says bag drop close 30min before departure. So if I schedule my Hakodate - New Chitose train to arrive at 3.32pm, no problem right? |

Does the tokaido or other 'mainland' shinkansens ever get 'full'? Last weekend my JR hokuto from hakodate to sapporo there were some stretches where the non reserved cars were so full that people were actually left behind on the stations cos they couldn't board. Kesian them cos that train not frequent, one train every 1-2 hours saja

QUOTE(volodstov @ Oct 20 2015, 11:14 AM) hi all, between Osaka, Tokyo and Sapporo, which cities you guys recommend? This is my first trip planning to go Japan. Thanks Like others have said, depends on what you want from Japan. But for me I will say first timer if you have limited time and can only visit one city, that city should be Tokyo. |

QUOTE(yippi @ Oct 20 2015, 08:53 PM) Can we checked in luggage for all those tax free items included food, medicine, cloths and etc? In this case, how the custom validate? If you mean while leaving Japan, the customs will rarely ever check. In the small chance the customs are there and check, then you just tell them the items are with you but in your checked luggage. If the officer really bad mood or you face problem they can arrange with the airline to retrieve your luggage and then open and check if you're telling the truth. But unless you're buying tens of thousands of ringgit of stuff to siam thousands of ringgit in tax I doubt you will kena. |
