spk never age. the tech is stagnant since decade ago. thats why ppl buy separate components to upgrade latest wireless techs and etc... remain same spk.

530 is wood
luna is not wood

do u see any high end spk not using wood?

yes u r right..so most probably i might as well get the passive speakers + amp like what the sifus in the other thread recommended me to..730d does not have bluetooth which is quite a dealbreaker for me..thanks bro

For RM200 budget, i will recommend you give Edifier XM6PF or XM6BT a try.

thanks for your info.
i heard that for those more care on musical feel, it's better to buy 2.0 (bookshelf) speakers than the 2.1 with sub woofer. Is this true? As for Edifier, some saying the Edifier R1700BT is pretty good except that its bass was too aggressive and could overshadow other sounds.

From my experience using 2.1 and comparing to 2.0 speakers, 2.1 tend to have muddier sounds. Vocals doesnt sound too good on the satellite speakers. I'm currently eyeing a 2.0 speakers as well

Thanks for sharing. If you found any potential 2.0 speakers, do share with us too. I'm very new to PC/wireless speakers. One with wireless feature would be great, comes with remote control would be a big plus.

R1700bt come with bass control, you can lower down the bass level if you feel too aggressive.

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a recommendation for speakers with:
- 2.1 setup
- price 200-300, but i dont mind buying something cheaper also tongue.gif
- dont care about brand, as long as it's recommended based on its sound
- good in clarity, not big fan of big bass. when listening to music & watching movies, i prefer to hear the vocals clearly rather than bass.
- subwoofer has volume knob (quite important)

Thanks!

QUOTE(lazyserv @ Feb 12 2017, 01:35 AM)
Dear sifus,

I need a suggestion of sound system for my room:

Conditions:
For bed room use, I'm using master bedroom therefore my room size is somewhere 300 to 400 sq ft (i need use 2hp aircond to cool up my room) so idk what is actual size.

Im using Toshiba 42" LED (4 years back model) mounted on the wall and on top is a shelf mounted for my laptop to connect to the LED using HDMI cable for youtubing and listening song purpose. My current setup face directly to my bed and I only have about 5ft from bed to wall, therefore I got limited of spaces.

Used before Pioneer Home Theather but one thing I dislike HT was once the player spoil, all the speaker couldn't reuse back. Therefore if there is any 2.1 or 5.1 speaker standalone would be a good options for me.

I like bass musics such as (Alone - Marshmellow, Martin Garrix - Animal and so on) If the woofer or sub woofer give whole room a vibrating sound and hard solid punch bass would be good for me.

Wired / Bluetooth connection speakers I'm okay with it.

My budget is somewhere around rm 500 to rm 600, I not sure with this kind of budget can get a good bass speakers & sub-woofer or woofer or not.

Therefore any advise from sifus is much appreciated.

Thank you.

that's sad biggrin.gif

How about if you try Edifier R501 TIII ?

It's a wired 5.1 setup so you might need some sort of encoder if you want 5.1 surround.
If not you'll just probably run them as 2.1 via pc/aux analog in

C6XD may have more choices for input but the 6.5" woofer may not be strong enough for your needs

But C6XD is more versatile as it has more function packed in it

C3x is good. In the past the Edifier c3 is selling like hot cakes.

The c3x is a bassier version. It will fill rooms easily. But do note that it is for close up listening so positioning is important if you are going to pair with tv

Close up as in tabletop for computer

to be dead honest I only knew the older brother of these two which is C3 and R501 MKII

they are both powerful but the R501 is more "home theater" sounding while the C3 sounds a bit more radio boombox

I have yet to test out the new R501 MKIII myself but the C3X is still a powerful beast with tighter bass compared to C3
