if it is running lithium it "must" cut off when it is full. They should have protected chip in the battery like every mobile phones have.

cuz ya know lithium is famous for exploding into flames or getting pregnant. cool2.gif

Yes it does cut off. I guess that's true.

I bought my mojo second hand. It works great. I sold them already couple months back. I personally prefer iDSD black label with HD650/6XX but prefer mojo with my previous TH900.

At Starspicker today to test dac/amps, since they don't have audoo gd r2r 11 or ifi black label, i could only test mojo and ifi dsd with HD600. While bassy tracks feel similar, I feel like mojo handles vocals way better....when I listen with ifi, the bgm is too overwhelming that I can't hear and appreciate the vocals.

Mojo > ifi dsd

However not sure if dsd sound is supposed to be similar to black label.

As per all the reviews so far, the black label is supposedly a diff beast compared to the normal one.
I’m quite interested in getting the black label when there’s a sale going on.

I auditioned all three of them: mojo, iDSD and iDSD BL. There's some time in the past where we have those three in house. My take with those three;

Mojo: superb sounding and clarity with a warm touch to it. Black background, low noise floor that helps in better clarity and detail retrieval. I love how it performs with vocal (male and female) because it gives the nuance of the singer's expression and emotion. It does well with any genre but vocal is the strength.

iDSD: power and dynamic. It provides more power than mojo but a little drier. Good clarity and more dynamic when pairs with headphones like HD650/600. The X-bass brings more bass amount but not necessarily accurate. I prefer classical and orchestra genre with this amp/dac.

iDSD BL: Awesome clarity and power. Blacker background and lower noise floor with a great musical representation. I love how this pair with HD650/600 and any planar headphones. Clarity is amazing and it is airier than mojo and the original iDSD. Although it still felt a little drier than mojo. The 3d sound is better than the original iDSD because it does open up extra space for a better holographic sound. more width and depth. I love this amp/dac with any song.

the BL is definitely an upgrade to the original iDSD but is it a mojo killer? It's really depends on person. I would not say that it's a mojo killer as I prefer mojo to the BL in some songs and the BL over mojo in some others. Like I said, I also prefer TH900 with my mojo because it adds extra warmth to the combo while HD650 with BL because it opens up the cans by a good margin. I prefer both of them over the silver iDSD. But the silver iDSD is the cheapest among the three. So, it's really up to you.

hey guys it seems my onboard sound card limited my Edifier 2.1 speaker S350DB + I also have a beyerdynamic DX 120 IE earphone when I dont use speaker.

it is an old Realtek® ALC892 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC. The Spec is Here . SNR seems to be about 90-95. Means any Dac or sound card seems to be a huge upgrade for me.

Anyone can recommend me a decent Dac? or these section is for headphone only? or I should go for soundcard? I prefer to stick to hardware that require little to no driver, dont really use those software bundled with sound card.

Budget RM200-300

I only know how to recommend DAC-X6 lol biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
Can consider Fiio K1, Q1
All these works right away via USB, no driver or software bundle required.

hey guys seems like I checked these DACs they all come with battery.

Would prefer those that do not come with battery run entirely from power instead.

q1 and q1 mk2 are powered by USB with rechargable battery in them
k1 and e10k are powered via usb only, no battery
dac-x6 is with power brick, no battery

Both Q1 has 3.5mm line out, other than headphone out, so they can connect to speakers too.
E10k has coaxial out, while x6 has RCA out. (Means they can connect to external speakers too.)
Mind you all these must connect to either a speaker amp or powered speakers, as they are not powerful enough to power speakers.
I have never tried Xonar DSX & Strix Soar so i cant comment them, but heard a lot of good thing about Xonar.

If i were to start all over again, I will skip DAC-X6, use Q1 as DAC and Massdrop Objective 2 as AMP, and it will be only slightly more than RM600.
