Not dare. Just curious. tongue.gif

1) One must know whether there will be interest paid monthly or not when place FD with a bank. And how do we know? Half the time counter staff won't know all this kind of stuff.
2) If you are not a priority customer and your amount is small say rm10k, are you willing to drive to the bank to demand the payment? (you are not even sure if will succeed) - waste petrol and time. If got RM, different story. Just give a call.
*
you no kiddo. with fd everywhere and some knowledge (some wrong infomation), must be unkle ram. or rich kiddo learning the trade? brows.gif

CASA = current account or saving account.

Only bank with high interest rates giving monthly interest is Bank Rakyat. Your deposit must be >RM5k. No eFD gives monthly interest. Certain banks give half yearly interest if deposit >12 months.

Alliance bank also have monthly but their interest not as high as BR (according to first page)
*
unkle ram, br minimum rm500 for >2 mth fd. not rm5k. brows.gif

Ya lo. Lots of stalkers with photographic memory. sad.gif

BNM need to raise the rates substantially. Look at Russia. Last year they raise their interest rates so much but still no effect. If a big country such as Russia have no effect, what more malaysia.

Same thing will happen in malaysia. Malaysia's issue is not about interest. Is about "trust deficit". tongue.gif

Just uplifted my 1 year FD 4% @ SCB. And as expected, while doing so, RM came out to try to convince me to continue leaving my money with them. Was approached with a capital guaranteed bond, with a yearly interest of 4.7xx% and no lock in period. If place today or tomorrow, they will pro-rate by end of this year and transfer interest into existing CASA. And if redeem any time next year, will also pro-rate. Another bond was giving 4.6xx% ... Both with no sales charge or fees involved.

So, if I can't think of any other offer, I might opt for this tomorrow. This was at Bandar Puteri Puchong branch. I Rentas'ed transfer my money out any way. The RM says he will come see me in my office if I decide to take up that offer.

I can only see 4% FD but with a 1:1 in CASA. Didn't ask if there was any current FD promos. Maybe will ask when he calls tomorrow.

bro be careful. capital guarantee but return no guarantee unlike fd.
