QUOTE(mushigen @ Apr 17 2023, 08:53 PM) Dear all, WTA, if we replace our aircon with another brand, do we need to run the refrigerant pipings again or we can re-use the existing copper pipings? QUOTE(aurion @ Apr 18 2023, 07:22 PM) If it is the same refrigerant type and piping size, can ask installer to purge the hose and vacuum it to reuse. if you are upgrading for example from 1.5 to 2 hp, check if the piping is the correct thicknessThis post has been edited by ZeneticX: Apr 19 2023, 12:09 AM |

QUOTE(Benefon @ Jan 3 2024, 06:38 AM) If you’re using aircon for daily’s from 8-9pm till next day 6-7am, I suggest you go for inverter model. is the savings significant if less than 6 hours usage? Otherwise like those people install non inverter switch on when during hot weather only Inverter benefit from less cut off power, even the temperature outside at 23c and inside was 26c room temperature. The compressor will be running in low RPM till stop, but inside room temperature won’t effected, because the temperature always control in 26c currently have a non inverter, i turn on aircond around 2 - 3am until 7am only (set timer auto off). temp at 24c with sleep mode on This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Jan 3 2024, 05:57 PM |

So I decided to upgrade my master room 1hp non inverter daikin (free by developer) to inverter
Wanted to get Daikin FTKU series but thinking about trying Sharp as well https://www.daikin.com.my/product/ftku-series-r32/ https://my.sharp/products/air-care/aiot-j-t...ioner-ahxp10yhd Both of them more or less the same price but Daikin BTU is slightly higher, 9700 btu vs sharp 9000 btu. Both have wifi function (sharp is about 200+ cheaper if go for non wifi model). Sharp have their plasma ion feature Suggestions? What about Haier? Since its much cheaper. Interested in this model as well. 9720 btu, have features of both the sharp and daikin model, and it looks good in grey https://www.haier.com/my/air-conditioners/h...List_20190530.2 This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Feb 8 2024, 01:48 PM |

QUOTE(Benefon @ Feb 8 2024, 01:56 PM) JS standard inverter not as good as deluxe. pay slightly high for GR, but you get back from long term usage. I only found this seller also but they are in JB... not sure delivery to KL need how much. GR series price seems to be 2k+, a bit over for me and havent include installation charges yethttps://shopee.com.my/%F0%9F%9B%A0%EF%B8%8F...8d-620743c3e9b0 Check from Shopee or any aircon shop, because of the GR inverter close to Singapore Starmex inveter model. BTU range for the 1hp airconds i considering Mitsu GR series - 3,753 - 11,601 Daikin FTKU series - 3,700 - 11,600 Sharp AIoT J Tech inverter - 2,870 - 10,600 Haier HSU-10VXA22 - No info. Only listed BTU as 9720 Price wise Haier cheapest (1k+), Mitsu most exp (2k+). Daikin and Sharp in between (1.6k+) This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Feb 8 2024, 02:03 PM |

QUOTE(Benefon @ Feb 8 2024, 02:08 PM) Sometime is not about the BTU for same room, is the brand model and design. So its either I pay more for a really good model (eg Mitsu GR), or just save the money and get the cheapest (Haier, Midea etc)Panasonic easy broken down and not cooling, everyone knows. Daikin after 3 years consider good, 5 years PCB spoiled, everyone knows also. Mitsubishi mr slim are good cooling and much durable, but not much ppls knows it well, except from singapore user, mostly went to mitsubishi electric starmex than the pana, daikin, hitachi, sharp or china aircon. IF you're concearn about money, go for Haier, Gree should be greater. |

QUOTE(xkaizoku @ Feb 16 2024, 11:15 AM) anyone know which aircon model have this sort of timer function? It should be on the remote itself, no use of any IoT/wifi devices. Even my standard daikin non inverter also have this function already.... the timer is saved on the remote, everytime you turn on the aircond it will set the timer againBasically, set up timer 8AM ON & 5PM OFF running repeatedly everyday permanently 365 days, without having to set up everyday. Aircon nowadays only one-time use, then to need set again. Looking to replace old aircon (Toshiba) with this function, but cannot find any new ones with the same function. Only time need to reset is when the remote is low or ran out of battery This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Feb 16 2024, 11:20 AM |

QUOTE(xkaizoku @ Feb 16 2024, 11:58 AM) May I know if you mean the weekly timer? I don't really understand it. Weekly timer means it will repeat every week for the whole year without having to reset again? Like I dont have to bother with it as long as my switch is on, aircon will run by itself all the time? Sorry i might have misunderstood you. What you are looking for is for the aircond to turn on automatically when the timer is set? Because now I have Panasonic airconds, they can only set timer for one-time use. After off, the timer light off and need to press again for next use. For my daikin once I set the timer in my remote, it would send a signal to the aircond to set it (main switch have to be on). So when the time comes, it would auto on. Though I never use the auto on function, only auto off which is set everytime I turn on the aircond with remote There's no need to bother with weekly timer etc because as long the timer is set on the remote and signal sent to the aircond its forever set until u decide to off it ![]() Notice the Off icon on remote? That means the timer is already set and everytime I turn on the aircond it would set the timer as it is. No need to set the time again etc This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Feb 16 2024, 12:40 PM |

QUOTE(xkaizoku @ Feb 16 2024, 02:58 PM) Yes, no one will be there. The aircon switch is on, and everyday aircon will auto on and off according to the timer. So, I need a remote timer which permanently running 365 days like my current Toshiba. for the Timer Auto On i think as long you set it on the remote and the signal was sent to the aircond, it would Auto On everytime when the time is hit and the main switch is on, no need rely on remote anymore Yours seem like you need to manually turn on aircon and timer function every time. Weekly timer looks very similar to what I am looking for but need for permanent, not just for one week. Not sure about this weekly timer whether is valid for one week or repeat weekly forever. not sure whether it works everyday though, never used the function This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Feb 16 2024, 03:35 PM Agent 45 liked this post

QUOTE(xkaizoku @ Feb 16 2024, 03:47 PM) well it doesnt work that way for mine, your remote looks similar to my panasonic one. hmm ill go and try again maybe due to cost optimisation they either removed or moved most of these functions which are rarely used to smart appsFor factory server room sort of yea similar usage like yours. But this is using an external timer. I am looking for aircond & remote with this integrated timer function, like daikin with weekly timer but for permanent instead. It's weird how this old tech no longer exists in recent new aircon models. This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Feb 16 2024, 04:08 PM |

QUOTE(xkaizoku @ Feb 16 2024, 04:19 PM) nvm I just tested mine. It works. leave it that way and see whether it still works the same tomorrow. if yes then pretty sure it works all the time until someone turns off the main switchMy bad lol, I got confused. Turns out the aftermarket remote does not have the proper timer function. |

QUOTE(more2teayap @ Feb 20 2024, 03:54 PM) Thank you for the suggestion, but if let's say my option is the red/blue area (for living room only) which would you suggest to install at? Reason being that 2 places already have the power and water pipe outlet for the AC. QUOTE(Benefon @ Feb 20 2024, 03:59 PM) Oops, if concealed on wall should install the right location. If the piping already provided better check what size and diameter is it before proceed to install 2hp. 2hp require thicker pipe compared to 1 and 1.5hpNot need re-run the gas pipe or drain outlet pipe. Install on blue mark, prefer on 2hp at least. Go with inverter Ascon or Misubishi electric inverter model. Pana or daikin have many issue Usually developer only provide piping for 1.5hp max at living area especially for smaller sqft (>1000 sqft) This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Feb 20 2024, 09:00 PM |

QUOTE(Benefon @ Mar 4 2024, 02:05 PM) Even I as a third party reader also can see the issue hereThey are complaining about a feature that Mitsubishi implemented. Its annoying hence an issue. Its in the owners manual. What is so hard to understand? Your aircond might not have the same feature / issue since its an older model, and the new one is not even sold in Msia Mitsubishi pay you money for promoting their aircond or every aircond they sell? QUOTE(Benefon @ Mar 4 2024, 02:25 PM) What is the new feature? In the user manual same as my current Mitsubishi electric setting in auto or manual, nothing wrong. Never indicative for new features. Basically set on manual vane stop in which angle or set on auto. That is simple setting to me. QUOTE(voscar @ Mar 1 2024, 08:49 PM) "If the lower position is selected during COOL/DRY, the vane automatically moves to the upward position after 0.5 to 1 hour to prevent any condensation from dripping." seriously your english got problem or you just want to insist you are right? |
