QUOTE(sexysarah1992 @ May 13 2025, 11:13 AM) One of my houses using Hisense aircons. The cooling suck balls even for 2hp . Very slow cooling and even slower to switch on and off. After warranty ends, want to switch to Panasonic Now my new house i fix all Panasonic. So so so much better than any China or Korean brand. Cools super fast and damn cold. Pls avoid Samsung, Hisense , and the rest of the junk from China. Have you tried Samsung and the other china brands? Otherwise this is just pure speculation.

QUOTE(Scissorshand @ May 28 2025, 08:10 AM) I have a 1.5hp sharp non inverter used more than 10 yrs running fine. Was wondering if I need to upgrade the outdoor capacitor to have better cooling? Does it make sense? In my opinion that doesn't make sense. Want better cooling, just change aircond to larger HP.

QUOTE(westlife @ Jun 1 2025, 08:40 PM) Ic. Becos I am renting apartment. Tot that if it does not have water leaking, then maybe I just skip the servicing. So far the aircons I used for 1.5 years already. So far so good. Cooling is ok, and no water leaking. If you are DIY kind of person, can open up and clean. Search Youtube and you can find some tutorial.

QUOTE(vl319 @ Jun 15 2025, 12:58 AM) Used to be service aircond every 6-8 months bcoz my house is next to main road. After install those pre filter i never service aircond anymore for 3 years. and the coil is still very clean and cold until now. Not sure it will spoil my aircon or not. But really save lot of money for whole house aircond. What filter? Regardless if the indoor unit looks clean, you still need to clean the outdoor unit for optimal performance.

QUOTE(dang4427 @ Jun 18 2025, 01:27 AM) Hi sifus, Can ask why my aircond running cold air, but the room just cannot cool down? Already close all doors and windows but still difficult to cool down the room. Anything I should check? Gas is ok and already technician check the whole thing found no issue for indoor and outdoor unit. The aircond is cold but still not enough to cool down your room? Is your aircond suitable for your room size?

QUOTE(dang4427 @ Jun 18 2025, 05:56 PM) room size is 2.6m x 3.8m x 3m height with a 1hp Sharp J-tech inverter. I’m not sure on the calculation but looking at it should be enough? Thanks for the suggestion, I will try to run with this mode and see how it goes. Does having those charcoal dehumidifier helps in this case? Base on your description should be enough. Also, dry mode already can reduce humidity of the room.

QUOTE(lonelymac @ Jul 23 2025, 11:00 PM) Hi Sifu, I need some advice. Currently, I’m using a Daikin non-inverter 2.5HP aircon for the living room. It worked fine for the first year, but starting from the second year, it keeps breaking down. I’ve already repaired it three times, and more than RM1000 has flown away. Now it’s broken again. I’m thinking of changing to a new unit. Should I go for 2.0HP, or stick with 2.5HP? The 2.5HP is cold enough for the living room, but my electricity bill shoots up fast. My house is a standard double-storey terrace with an open dry kitchen concept. Normally, I only turn it on for about 2 to 4 hours per day during weekends. Also, which brand would you recommend? I’m really not happy with Daikin — the unit im using keeps giving me problems, and the design seems faulty. Some plastic parts inside even melted. if you go for a 2.0HP unit in an open space like living room, the AC still have to work harder, and you cannot experience as much energy saving benefit. If currently 2.5HP provide just the right cooling, maintain it. I suggest you do calculation base on your living room size to determine how much HP is needed to cool the area effectively. Also, set the temperature just enough to feel comfortable, if constantly set to lower temp it surely eat up electricity.
