good morning,
I'm new here.
planning to install air conditioner for my small room,
Looking at the list given, the Mitsubishi Electric MSY-JP13VF 1.5hp R32 gas is very good in term of spec:
BTU/h 12,283
air flow 12.32
just want to ask regarding the service is it air conditioner with r32 gas will be more expensive compared air conditioner with R410A gas?
Thank You,
*
Future is hard to say.
Currently r32 cost more than r410a per tank

just want to ask: We need to service our aircon each year or what time interval?
*
Service when not cold. Service when noisy.
Clean the air filter on your own. Interval depends on your usage and how dirty the air is.

If use often just check once a month, if dirty, clean it.
As for cleaning the indoor cooling coil, can use those aircon cleaner foam stuff maybe every 6 months if dirty or airflow reduction. Can diy easily.

Outdoor unit usually self cleans if exposed to rain.

Just came out from Harvey Norman and one of the sales person told me that inverter units can be installed on a non inverter piping - by using a “joint” that enables this. Anyone know whether this works? Is it true?
*
No such thing as inverter or non inverter piping.

Hi,

is there any aircon with air-purifying technology ? I searched and found Daikin have this model FTKV35NVMM, but couldn't find it anywhere online. Please advise if you guys know about this product and where can i get it at Klang valley~~
*
As far as I know none.

Even if have it is just crappy ionizer thing which I don’t consider as air purifying.

To be real air purifier, needs hepa filter as a bare minimum.

Aircon filter will not have hepa filter because they cost a lot and clog up too quick.

Thanks. How do I know the existing piping done is for which refrigerant? It’s been 8 years so I assume the popular non inverter refrigerant is R22. If that’s the case, can I install a R410 non inverter unit? If not, what solution I have beside replacing the piping which is already concealed?
*
Get a aircon technician or installer to have a look at the pipe diameter and pipe thickness.

Again, no such thing as inverter or non inverter piping. R410a and r32 have the same operation pressure and hence, same piping requirement, regardless of whether inverter or not.

Is pressure testing for new air con installation necessary and advisable?
*
If within the piping length usually unnecessary.
If old pipes or pipe from previous aircon then yes, need test.

All the connections at indoor and outdoor unit that connect to the pipes need to do soap water test for leaks.

Guys,

Anyone face same issue as me? Suddenly daikin 1.5hp air cond blow out with some noises. Uploaded as below

The sound when I turn it whether high or low

This daikin machine only 9 months old. Called up their customer service, spoken to a technician name Eric, was asked to wash the pre filter due to bloackage of the suction of the air cauaing the noise.

Not sure if this is the REAL reason as I never encounter this issue with National / Sharp or even Panasonic. All with same usage in bedroom.
*
Take filter out and wash.
Take a spray gun and. Spray water the cross fan.
Done.

Filter done washed as per advised by daikin.

What about cross fan? How to wash? Thanks
*
1. Watch you tube video.
2. Prepare a huge plastic cover.
3. Try to use the plastic somehow to hang and direct waste water to a pail. Or if you can find some plastic cover dedicated for aircon cleaning then even better.
4. Hook up water tubing with a garden spray to the indoor unit.
5. Off aircon.
6. Get a ladder or chair and get close to th blower or cross fan.
7. Spray. You should see the cross fan spinning as you spray and lots of black water coming out. Spray left and right. Avoid water going to the pcb, usually covered on the right top corner of indoor unit.

And since you already take so much time and effort setting up, might as well spray water over the evaporator coil( the coil behind the filter). Spray until no more black water come out.

And stand by lots of towels to mop up water that goes to places you don’t want them to go to.

hi all,
my new house is facing an issue where aircon piping provided by the developer is too close to the ceiling. i cannot lower the aircon further due to the drain hose piping cannot be higher than the outlet.

One option that i have is to have a pelmet for the aircon but i dont really fancy the design and also i am thinking would it affect the cooling capacity as basically the aircon inlet at the top is surrounded by the plaster ceiling with minimum clearance all around.

i am trying to avoid hacking the wall to find the drain hose as it will be a guessing game and patching the wall will be costly. Any advice?

Cheers.

Plaster ceiling will be dropping down by around 11inch to level the ceiling.
And i need to keep at least 3 inch at the bottom for the curtain rail.
*
just hack the wall......then everything can move.

looks like a simple back to back setup only......

Does 2nd hand/recon inverter AC works as efficient as new ones?
*
Depends on the condition of the aircon.
Also.... inverter aircon got signal cable to communicate with indoor unit...so need to make sure the indoor unit can communicate properly with outdoor unit and having the same brand, capacity and model might be important.

NEED HELP!!

if the outdoor unit fan is spinning but the aircon is not cold, does it mean the compressor is beyond repair already?
*
1. Check compressor working or not
2. Check gas pressure if compressor working

If low, check for leak, repair leak and refill gas.

wow really ar. but hisense kinda cheapo brand right? u have any experience using it?
*
hisense has bad design too.

the drainage from the horizontal upper part of the coil goes behind the unit and through a small hole to go to the front catch pan then to drain pipe.

the small hole tend to get block easily. so very easy to leak water from the back. even after cleaning coil and remove blockage from drain pipe also will leak in no time if the aircon guy don't know about the aircon design.

and i doubt aircon guy will bother to dismantle the whole aircon just to access some hole behind the aircon
