The seller said do not believes all the comments in internet liao .. Hitachi have its own aircond factory in Malaysia and easier to find spare parts .. two sellers from two shops told me this  hmm.gif
*
Hitachi claim more expansive, but parts more into lack quality of China made, cause my hitachi 1hp All DC inverter less than 3 yrs PCB kaput, I am nothing to said, that's extreme worst than York or Daikin made in M'sia product.

Even hitachi parts also claim much higher and expansive than Panasonic or others Japanese brands.

I have a Midea 1HP inverter air con. I just move in recently and this air con is not use often (guest room).

Today, I started it and felt that the air is not cold. When I check the drain pipe, no water is dripping out either. It was cold previously and the water drained out properly.

Do any know of you know what is the possible cause?
*
Check gas pressure is the only way will do.

hi guys, need some advice, would like to get non inverter with r410 gas with 5 star energy efficient , would this be a cheaper alternative than getting inverter unit? any disadvantages?
*
1st do u plan the AC install on which area? Living or bedroom?

If living hall can be seldom used then go with non inveter with R410a good for future on copper pipe an issue, if you wanted to upgrade.

Bedroom can be turn on more often then go with inverter R410a you won't disappoint on your bill.

planning on 3 units, 1 for living hall, 1 master , 1 2nd room ( apartment 1000sqf ) - piping will be doing now during reno  ( cater for inverter piping )
*
Like living room for 2hp is sufficient

For the rest 1-1.5hp both copper size are the same.
Just slighly thickness for the copper internal diameter

btw, for non inverter with r410a , the piping need to use inverter piping or not necessary?
*
Non inverter such as R22 not guaranty can last another 15 yrs.

Also R410a non inverter gas pressure same as inverter model, so the minimum requirement make sure the thickness same as inverter, for the cost of installed both are the same.

If getting inverter your bill lagi save for long run.

Daikin - http://www.lazada.com.my/daikin-15hp-inver...al-1115189.html

LG - http://www.lazada.com.my/lg-deluxe-inverte...d4-1533571.html

Sharp - http://www.lazada.com.my/sharp-ahx12sev1-a...er-3811730.html

Wanted to know which one will be best value for money and maintenance. Do let me know if there are other brands i should consider. The ones i found are from lazada as the prices seem good, but i am always open to hear if there are other places i should check out?

How is AEON?

Thanks Kimsim

It is higher in price yes tongue.gif but what makes this brand / model more energy & money saving compared with others? Your expert insights will be helpful
*
MHI slighly better and quiet than others, just a bit high price, the other option for Daikin inverter, you won't disappointed of the coldest n energy efficiency too.

Just slighly noisy = higher airflow

So, Kimsim your preference is ME, MHI then Daikin?

Need your advice, I want to replace my 1.5HP Sanyo-R22-noninvertor with 1.5HP FTN15M-r410-invertor using existing concealed piping(R22), is it possible? My installer said yes. rclxub.gif PrevIOUSly was thinking of using MS-GH17VC-R22-noninvertor but installer said R22 will be phased out in 5 years.
*
Your condition just like mine b4, concealed wall for R22 AC, after we decide to change over R410a, then re-run new copper pipe and wire for R410a, but we can't used back the existing copper gas pipe already, end out died died used trunking and hack off the wall, for the gas pipe through into our bedroom and bend up to ceiling.

At least can't see in living room, just slighly ugly on bedroom. Since this is can keep cold.

Honestly R22 is a died end product, due to gas refrigerant.
Cause in future would be price went up and just in case if gas leaking.

So at this moment for R410a is a best investment AC model, at least no issue in future.

ME is good due to expansive, so the best option for Daikin, the cooling of Daikin is never let you disappointed at all, parts also cheaper.

MHI had more feature, if you can afford MHI inverter also quite good for you.

Think about long run, should invest like inverter model and energy saving too.

R22 even FCU for the airflow design not as quiet than R410a inverter for any models, you can simple to compare it.

*
Samsung inverter is good, but just to concern about maintenace he he... Not too sure the FCU easy to dismantle or not.. The design quite compact.

Make sure you empty filter as often.

Anyone has experience that the aircond roller has a lot of dust/block after 3 months? Mine is like that. Any tips to avoid the roller from being blocked?

Keep this in low fan mode, also wash your filter as often, make sure door or window close when your AC are turn on

I washed filter every month, door and windows are closed, but I will try your tips - keep low fan mode.

You need Dehumidifier to help dry your room.

Please try to open the windows and let's natural air and circulation your room.

So u don't recommend that I use my concealed piping (old R22 Sanyo, use less than 10 times in 14years) with the new FTN15M-r410.
*
Someone said, if 1hp still able to used, but at the bending portion will be broken and gas leaking is depend on times.

You need to check with Aircon man n see how they tell u the correct answer, maybe last time copper price are cheaper and they used the thickness one for you.

QUOTE(keyser soze @ Sep 29 2015, 07:00 PM)
I have Thermoline (copper tubing) catalogue with me. The safe working pressure claimed under Australian Standard AS1571-1985, for 6.4x0.58mm is 981psi, for 9.5x0.58mm is 639psi, for 12.7x0.58mm is 470psi.
When I check with MHI engineer their recommended test pressure for their R410a system is 400psi. Daikin told me 400 to 450 psi.
If you check the R410a properties at 34 deg C the gas or liquid pressure is only around 290psi. In order for the system to fail, unless someone heat the gas up to 54 deg C then the pressure shall reach 470psi.

That means if you use back R22 copper tubing for R410a up to 1.5hp you still have around 60% safety factor. Of course 60% might not be comfortable if you consider others factors.

That's why I said 1hp should be ok and 1.5hp is risky.
*
Ya I knew that, that's why no recommend to use with existing pipe, unless like that has meantion for G23 gauge copper before.

Now my problem is solved thanks to Midea. I called them up on Monday and the CS promised me that a technician will contact me within 2 working days. I received a call yesterday from the technician and he came to fix the problem for me this morning FOC. He said that the outdoor unit was not screwed on properly by my installer hence the refrigerant leak. He refilled the gas and tighten the screw. So now my unit is cold again.

Supersound is right that the fault lies with my installer.

Nowadays has many same issue belong to installed.

Should you guy engaged Aircon shop or just freelance or foreigners worker who installed for you.
