QUOTE(xphr3ak @ Jul 3 2020, 05:13 PM) I am in the same dilemma too. Maybe will buy from Senheng as got extra warranty. If spoil, repair or get a replacement from Senheng. Pansonic CS-XU10VKH was quoted RM3569. If want extra warranty, need to add RM259. I keen to get Panasonic due to Nanoe G and Nanoe X. I have premature daugther who very allergic to dust. Hopefully, these Nanoes can help on that. Thanks. Why so expensive? I saw everywhere else selling for less than 2k for that model.

QUOTE(jusTinMM @ Jul 9 2020, 12:44 PM) For a office usage...2hp...Installer recommend Acson or Daikin non inverter, he said both same factory and Acson is cheaper by rm100. But he do not recommend using inverter said the pcb very easy spoilt...Im looking for inverter because daily about 12 hours usage.... Same factory doesn't mean same products. Both Hyundai & BMW CKD are assembled in same plant. Do you think both are the same products?

QUOTE(mini orchard @ Jul 9 2020, 10:17 PM) Contract assembler and manufacturing are two different process. Two different makes cannot be same product in contract assembly. Two different brands of similar product from a single manufacturer can be same product albeit in different design. Eg. KDK and Panasonic exhaust fan. Okay maybe my example is too extreme. But still, my point is it isn’t the same product. They might share some same components, but still it isn’t the same product having the same performance.

QUOTE(mini orchard @ Jul 9 2020, 11:22 PM) Similar products shared major components. That is the bulk of manufacturing cost. The rest are secondary. The major component in aircond is the compressor, I doubt it will have different performance on the two brands. Same compressor but different BTU specs. Different for customers but is the same for manufacturer. Same manufacturer, different brands, design and specs are marketing strategies to capture market share. Manufacturer cannot claimed is similar, to cater for different market based on affordability. They also cannot have similar price for the two brands as price differentation is important to fight competitors products. Major components, yes, if similarly priced, most likely they are using the same components. But there will be some “cheaper” performance parts that would be different like internal tubes, heat exchanger, filters & etc that would make up the difference in price and affect the performance. Hence I would not say the two brands would perform equally despite coming from the same factory.

QUOTE(james.6831 @ Jul 31 2020, 01:38 PM) power or not mine..for condo installation...not including air con yet... [attachmentid=10546691] How far is the distance between the indoor and outdoor unit? What brand of insulation & copper tube they are giving you? I got a quotation that is almost the same price as yours, slightly cheaper. But my price is quite expensive than normal because I specify the copper tube brand & thickness, insulation brand & thickness, insulated PVC pipe, individually insulated copper tubes, PVC casing & etc, all the proper way of installing an air conditioner.

Or maybe you can see how the copper piping connection to you outdoor unit looks like. Maybe some of what we listed here that can inflate the installation price is there..

QUOTE(james.6831 @ Jul 31 2020, 01:38 PM) power or not mine..for condo installation...not including air con yet... [attachmentid=10546691] My contractor quoted me RM1290 for installation of 1.0hp inverter air conditioner inclusive of hacking, re-skim coat, and repaint to original wall colour. All materials provided are sirim approved materials, 0.8mm thick copper pipe individually insulated with 3/4” thick insulation, insulated PVC drain pipe to nearest drain, PVC casing at external exposed area. So, your price isn’t that bad

QUOTE(mini orchard @ Aug 12 2020, 09:25 AM) If that is the case, I recommend Pana. As for Daikin I cant comment as I am not a user. Are Econavi and IAuto useful feature in panasonic air conditioner? They removed that feature in their latest model

QUOTE(jack2 @ Aug 12 2020, 09:43 PM) I didnt ask them. Premium is better? In terms of cooling capacity, the newer one is better. But there are few features in premium that were removed in X-deluxe models. Another thing is that premium is longer and slimmer, it looks nicer to my eyes This post has been edited by blanket84: Aug 12 2020, 09:53 PM

QUOTE(jack2 @ Aug 12 2020, 10:08 PM) Premium model has two types Premium and X-Premium. You mean X-Deluxe is the latest model among all? Yes. X-deluxe is the latest model. Premium and X-Premium is the older model. The removed some features like econavi & IAuto in X-Deluxe model and change the shape as well. I don’t whether I should keep hunting for older model or go with the new X-Deluxe model.

QUOTE(jack2 @ Aug 12 2020, 10:24 PM) why u wanna change to X Deluxe model while some features have been removed? I don’t. But it seems that less and less shop are selling premium inverter model. Even their biggest distributor is pushing for x-deluxe sales only

QUOTE(shebbycs @ Sep 10 2020, 06:50 AM) This one out of topic of aircond but I want to ask about installation ceiling fan, based on this photo below, what is the ideal fan size to install for a. Living b. Dining c. Bedroom 1 d. Bedroom 2 e. Bedroom 3 ceo684mini orchardMomo33All your rooms are narrow including the living & dining. Your best option is 40”-42” fan which the best looking you could get would be Alpha Alkova Series.

QUOTE(shebbycs @ Sep 11 2020, 06:48 AM) My living, dining and bedrooms got the plaster ceiling I am not sure what are you trying to highlight here. Are you trying to tell me your ceiling is lower and alpha alkova would be to low for you? If so, then go for KDK Baby Fan, it's 44" and the height from lowest part to ceiling is 9". If want good looking then go for Aeratron FR, 43" diameter & 11" high.

QUOTE(StevenL @ Sep 25 2020, 04:04 PM) I honestly don't understand why ppl use aircond set at 25-27° might as well sleep with fan and it's cheaper Am using Sharp inverter 5* set at 22° with saving off 45% compared with previous non inverter When you set your temperature to be at 22oC, are you sure you room temperature did achieve 22oC? In office HVAC design we always tried to achieve 25.5oC temperature. Lower than that it might be uncomfortable to most people. So, setting the temperature in 25-27oC sounds reasonable when your aircond is appropriately sized.

Actually if you just want to cool down a room and not looking for energy saving & all the fancy invisible features, established China brand air conditioner should be just fine.
