The question now is, at a starting price from RM190k with a base 2.5l engine. Who in the right mind in UMW made the decision to price this car so high and who do they expect to buy it? Are they crazy or is the public crazy enough to shell out around RM30k more for a car that went for as low as RM150k before the launch of this?

maybe the pricing is a mkt strategy to deceive Honda on the pricing of their up coming Honda Accord...

also, this is not the first time UMW scale down it new car model spec in order to maximum the profit as compare to other country in the region, our weak currency also have factor to blame...

So, you mean they want to jedi mindtrick honda into purposely selling their accord more expensive? so they both wipe each other out in the D segment market and benefit the koreans?

I don't get it.

I’ve driven the new CAMRY hybrid in July 2018 when it was newly launched in Australia.

Nice car to drive with lots of perks - autonomous emergency breaking, radar cruise control etc etc. love the boot space as the battery resides under the rear seats and it doesn’t take up any boot space. I achieve around 4-5l /km when driving around town and highway. It’s a bit unfair comparison as I hardly use the AC as the weather there was perfect!

Very sad to see that Toyota Malaysia is using the old engine and not much of tech stuff.

due to weak RM Currency, if bring in new engine, the selling price can match entry model of BMW or Merz.

Hi Guys,

would like to know whether there is a difference between these 2 Camrys. So far i checked, the chassis number is the same.

https://www.mudah.my/2016+Toyota+CAMRY+2+0+...A+-75997760.htm

https://www.mudah.my/2018+Toyota+CAMRY+2+0+...A+-75658791.htm

i know that the airbags have increased during the recent years.

But the suspension and handling?

Are there any differences?

thanks.

My 2015 that had some steering noise over bump now will have noise when turning or when engine kick in. It does not sound like clicking of CV joint. When turning the steering in parking, can hear some low humming noise. Sent to Toyota but I could barely replicate the noise and they want me to keep driving.

Anyone with similar issues?

Steering shaft is the culprit. Get it replaced under warranty FOC. New could burn your pocket 1K+

Thanks. Gonna have them look at it when I do service. I paid for the extended 2yr warranty. So they better fix it.

Was told a bolt in steering shaft is loose. While the car was at dealer the check hybrid warning came on. Had the battery replaced under warranty. Total mileage under 120,000km. Lucky I am not stranded anywhere having to tow it in.
