QUOTE(nkhong @ Jul 4 2015, 12:18 AM) Does the sound come consistently for your case? Mine is only intermittent, not everytime when over the bumpy road or cornering. QUOTE(viper83 @ Jul 3 2015, 08:03 AM) It's like low vibrating sound at the meter panel. The service center say it's from a plastic panel below the steering wheel which they already put some extra insulation. But for me the sound came back again after a while especially on bumpy roads and cornering. I already told them again and they ask to bring back to them for further check. Looks like there is no end to this issue yet. They clocked some 250km to get this fixed and it keeps coming back after a while. The sound comes when you are driving on uneven/rough surface road at around 40 to 60km/h. Gonna send in again to get it check.

QUOTE(wychoo @ Jul 9 2015, 12:03 AM) My Hybrid also had rattling noise on the driver side dashboard. Took it to the SC and the technician said loose bottom cover which he has push it back. Now no rattling noise but very soft plastic creaking noise only once in a while. Bro, you have any idea which piece of the plastic cover the technician pushed back? Do you mind to share some pictures to show?

QUOTE(wychoo @ Jul 9 2015, 11:34 PM) Hi, have you taken the car back to the SC. any feedback. My car looks like having the same sound. Told the SA and they say they added insulation, but still have the intermittent creaking plastic noise. I will have to take the car back in again. My old camry never had this type of problems. i brought the car to the SC twice, first time i had to leave the car at the SC for 3 workings days which they clocked some 250km. Everything was good when i picked up the car for like a week and some 100km drive and the annoying sound came back again. 2nd time had to leave the car for like half a day and when i picked up everything was fine again for like another few days and back to the same. its been driving me nuts. Will be sending in again on 5000km service to get it looked again.

QUOTE(nkhong @ Jul 11 2015, 12:07 AM) Same with mine. The problem started after few hundred km and become obvious everytime go through uneven road. I sent for service yesterday and after service was so happy tot they fix the problem after short drive, the happiness was short while only and during my 30mins drive to ofis and the irritating sound still come occassionally. Need to send in again. This is really waste of time.
Need to increase my tolerance level for a while to the @#~!@$##%@ sound until my next service due.

QUOTE(viper83 @ Jul 11 2015, 01:09 AM) Haha looks like quite a lot of ppl having this prob. I heard the noise again n went back to the SC. the service guy drove with me for about 15 mins but magically no sound came out!!! After that I left the center without doing anything and after few mins drive, the sound came back!!! Sigh I'm giving up already The problem only happens on certain speed for me, slow and smooth drive at 40-60km/h, can't really hear it when you are accelerating or going above 80km/h. i had a thought like picking a route and speed for the technician listen to the noise. QUOTE(nkhong @ Jul 11 2015, 09:15 AM) This is why they give 10 speaker, so max out while driving . Just kidding, why dont just send in for them to check. More people complaint might force umw to do root cause analysis. The need for more speakers!!!..... to cover up other noise

QUOTE(nkhong @ Aug 3 2015, 09:34 AM) Actually i will not accept it as design issue. Are you going to umw sc? How could someone design a rear light that water can leak into it? It is a brainless explaination. If this is really a design issue, then this will be my last car from toyota/umw, cause they couldnt get the rear light right, how could they get others more complex component right? QUOTE(autosense @ Aug 3 2015, 04:09 PM) If you have found a solution please inform us. The SC supervisor told me if I am unhappy I can file a complaint which I did. But he offered no remedy because he said it is the same with all other cars of this model. I had similar problem with my 2004 vios, problem only appeared after 1 year plus. i got replacement for both headlights and almost entering the second year of owning the car i got my right rear light replaced as well with same issue. It didn't take much of time after i brought in the car. i was told wait about 1 to 2 weeks for replacement parts arrive and they me called to bring the car over to get the lights replaced. My advice bring your car to a different service center to complaint of your issue. if its not a umw sc. This post has been edited by spikeman: Aug 3 2015, 07:20 PM

Guys i think found where the rattling sound comes from, after much of tolerance to the noise Try to hold the piece when you hear the rattling sound, it goes off instantly. Now the next time i bring in the car to SC, hope they get it fixed properly. This post has been edited by spikeman: Aug 3 2015, 07:21 PM

QUOTE(nkhong @ Aug 3 2015, 11:10 PM) So far my car havent got the rear light water leak issue. The solution should come from umw since this is wellknown issue to them. now it is telling us to accept it and they wont do anything about it. Haaizzz. Right now only the rattling sound problem from dash board that is bothering me now. How many of u already have this water leak issue? How long does it take for issue to appeared? So far no rear light water leak issue for me, just the rattling sound from the lower dashboard of the driver side.

QUOTE(enticing188 @ Dec 12 2015, 07:34 PM) my dashboard got rattling noise on zebra crossing or uneven road.. anyone facing this issue? some of us had this similar issue which was mentioned in this thread earlier. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=75713652I just got mine fixed a week back. according to the SC the rattling noise came from the knee airbag assembly. The cover to the knee airbag itself was giving out the noise for my case.

QUOTE(tribaleps @ Mar 23 2016, 02:36 PM) The area surrounding the gear shift, the seat belt panel by the side of the door (the thing is completely loose and it is supposed to be that way it seems) , glove compartment....all rattles when driving on rough roads. Seems like these areas are not properly insulated. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...entry77785261Hope this helps. Just a suggestion to list all the known issues and solution at the first page for easy reference.

QUOTE(tchinhe @ Apr 10 2016, 08:54 AM) Message UMW to see if they will make it free. Or at rm3k in service credits. New hybrid price is the same and they continue to give rebates. If owners do servicing for 2 more yrs they also get more business. So much for being loyal customer of toyota. i sent message to them asking for some discount or perhaps the payment for the purchase of the 2 years extended warranty converted into service credit. i just got one sentence reply from them. "There is no applicable discount for Merit customers." Too bad our car is not some kind of telco service which can "port out" with minimum damage.

QUOTE(tchinhe @ Feb 1 2020, 11:23 AM) My 2015 that had some steering noise over bump now will have noise when turning or when engine kick in. It does not sound like clicking of CV joint. When turning the steering in parking, can hear some low humming noise. Sent to Toyota but I could barely replicate the noise and they want me to keep driving. Anyone with similar issues? Steering shaft is the culprit. Get it replaced under warranty FOC. New could burn your pocket 1K+

QUOTE(tchinhe @ Mar 11 2020, 11:18 PM) Was told a bolt in steering shaft is loose. While the car was at dealer the check hybrid warning came on. Had the battery replaced under warranty. Total mileage under 120,000km. Lucky I am not stranded anywhere having to tow it in. Wow lucky you! Any idea how much it would have cost you to get the batteries replaced?
