I dun use BT GPSr so can't advise much..but for sure u need to pair (i.e sync) the GPSr to the PDA 1st. If u faileed this steps for sure u can't get the fix. (Probably just follow the instruction manual on how to sync.. hmm.gif )...In malsingmaps wiki..it just mentioned u need to pair the BT GPSr 1st.. hmm.gif

2ndly...u need to setup the comport in the mapking by going to tools>GPS/track>GPS setting tick "by User" & click on search gps...the unit should be able to search tha actual comport authomatically.. hmm.gif

hello all the sifu's here.. i wanna ask how much the nuvi200 cost and where to get the best deal in kl and klang valley? and one more question... previous reply i read you all say we use US satellite to find our location using GPSr or device like nuvi200 free of charge at the moment rite? is there any possibility that the US government gonna charge us for using their satellite in the near future?

... we don't use solely US's satelite only rite. I think it's a collaboration between countries who own satellites. Nt too sure bout this tho. But nt likely their gonna charge.

Bro, u asked exactly the same question i've been trying to find out all this while! biggrin.gif

And yes, i guess the Nuvi 200 is the cheapest GPS device in the market today... Its very suitable for newbies into the GPS world, like myself... Also, speaking of the satellite, i thought we don't just use the American ones... The European satellites are also connected to the network ya?

New Version Of GMXT 4.10.60

It looks like Garmin has released a new version of their Mobile XT software in Taiwan that has some pretty cool new features. Here are some screen shots of the Symbian UIQ3 version running on a Sony Ericsson smartphone:

New Vehicle Icon Support (just like on the nuvi):

New Photo Viewer Support (just like on the nuvi):

but gmxt need its own GP10x to work.

I havent got myself a Standalone GPSr, but as far as i am using my PDA GPS, its all good though. No doubt while halfway navigating and a call interupt maybe bad, but you could always close the call window and it will return back to the navigation screen while you still have your call.

screen might be small, but dont tell you are looking at the gps screen and drive. it is recommended to listen to the instruction and possibly just a glimpse. Processor wise, from my HP 6965(416mhz) to P535(520mhz), both perform well in either mapking or garmin que. Only let down is battery draining, so you must have an in car charger.

GPRS download? I only know they use to download the datas of the satellites and it is manual download. Usually it is for Assisted GPS for faster locking time.

Not really because now GMXT can work with built-in GPS but you need to buy the SD card from Garmin contain GMXT program.

It had been discussed here.

Q:can i use any software to Holux device or Garmin device.
A: If u mean any GPS navigation softwares written for PPC? then YES. However for standalone GPSr such as Garmin 60CSX..The unit comes wth Garmin software..no way of installing others.

Q: is it every software using the same map format.
A: NO. Each softwares have their own maps format..so for software using Mapking, only mapking format, for those using Garmin only Garmin. For those interested to use Malsingmaps, there are only two compartible maps i.e Garmin & Mapking. If u buy other format such as those commercial Navimaps, ..The so called powered by TM navi..No way u can use malsingmaps.

Q:i'm planning to buy Touch+M-1000+Mapking or Malsing ...
is it a good combo...????
A: OK- good buy as Touch support both Mapking & Garmin Que...so u can use Malsingmaps. But Touch processor is abit slow...so calculation & etc will be abit slow-lah..Try to buy those wth >400mhx processor

So cheap aaa... May be special offered price.

If you asking me, I would suggest you Garmin Que + GPS Proxy. But for newbie the setting could be a headache. You can find out the setting at malsing website.

Mapking also give a good coverage for semenanjung but you need to buy the map license.
