Hi all, I would like to know, if a medical practitioner of Malaysia (who has finished his 2 year housemanship + 5 yrs degree of MBBS/MD locally) is qualified to register for the curriculum/test, and eventually become a charterholder, if he/she manages to pass the 3 levels?

With your current professional working experience and education, yes you are eligible to register for the CFA exam. However, your current working experience does not qualify you to become a charterdholder, as you are required to have 4-year financial related working experience in order to apply for the CFA chartered title if you pass all the 3 levels. |

This means I need to get a degree in finance(full time/correspondence/distant),+ work in local company, make it all together 4 years so I take CFA then only apply for charterholder, right? However, your current working experience does not qualify you to become a charterdholder, as you are required to have 4-year financial related working experience in order to apply for the CFA chartered title if you pass all the 3 levels. |

No, you do not have to take a degree in finance anymore. What kinwing is trying to say that after you have passed the 3 levels, you will need 4 years of RELEVANT working experience in roles that involve investment decision-making. |

If you want to become an investment analyst, then you should do the CFA program. With your current degree, I do not think that banks/asset management companies will want to take you in at the moment. If you do the program, you might have better chances (no guarantees). It's all about networking in this industry. Pick up a book on finance/investment and judge for yourself if you are comfortable with the material. |

Is there any non-finance students who are taking CFA exams? I mean students who are still studying for their bachelor/master's.
Do you have time, especially if you're from engineering background? |

Hi guys,
just want to keep abreast with the latest news now! where is the best place to study CFA currently? in other words, which institute provides the best or very experience lecturers/tutors in teaching CFA syllabus? as far as I know, Kasturi seems to be a good choice, but that's what I know few years back, is it still a good choice now? Edit: I only found out recently that Kasturi has been renamed to Malvern This post has been edited by WereWolf84: Mar 1 2012, 12:07 PM |
