QUOTE(gooni3 @ Dec 18 2011, 09:11 AM) fino, i know that if u really pass all 3 levels u're undergraduate really don't matter already.. because cfa is really really difficult.. and people change, they may work harder for their cfa compared to their undergraduate, if you can pass level 1 it is mostly equivalent to an undergraduate degree (if you exclude ivy leagues university)i just wanted to see how she would answer the question and know what she really getting into.. if she only wanna do it because she thinks she can replace for her undergraduate.. then have to think twice.. it's not wrong but u need to have the passion and commitment to pass.. not like u think just taking it automatically pass and get into analyst job.. That makes getting a CFA level 1 sounds so good!! Then Level 2 equals to master's degree, and Level 3 is PhD?

Is there any non-finance students who are taking CFA exams? I mean students who are still studying for their bachelor/master's.
Do you have time, especially if you're from engineering background?

Is it pointless to have CFA level 1 as a fresh uni grad?
how much time did you spend to study for CFA level 1??

I guess after CFA-certified, one gets more responsibility and more job opportunities, at the same time more stressful and more workload. No easy money, easy life.

QUOTE(Manada @ Feb 9 2016, 09:42 AM) But sometimes your path is not designated as expected right. Like for example, i have a degree in finance but i went into sales and marketing. So having a CFA doesnt really help me in my case unless if I am still looking for finance related jobs for you who already got a degree in finance, no CFA also nevermind. If you want, you can also do a master's degree in finance. I think CFA is more suited for those who want to get into IB corporate finance and asset management.

I know a friend who is interested in studying CFA but he's from working in the finance industry. He's working in the medicine field. He's considering CFA because he thinks it will make him make a sound investment decision. What do you think? Do CFA just so that you can learn to invest your own money?? Sounds weird.
