Same here.. Using the 1st model too..   TM's refused to change it for free cuz it's out of warranty.. Understandably so, however, me contract is almost up and they've been calling, trying to sell another 2 years lock-in .. Each time they call, I say I'll upgrade provided they come and replace all the equipment with newer ones and each time they respond with either "We'll get back to you" or "We can't, cuz something has to break first".. I'm like  .. This is how they treat a longggg term customer... So been cajoling TIME (who's really close by) to move into the condo, it's been considered.. So if successful, easy to potong and jump ship..

1st you need to enable Wifi under setting for STB to access internet and login your google play account.

2nd there is limited apps available in google play store (Android TV) but ES file explorer is available for download (go install ES file explorer).

3rd download apps (APK files) from web (google search apk) and copy to USB drive/micro sd using PC/Laptop.

4th plug in usb/micro sd to STB and used ES file explorer to install apps.

please take note, STB only available 2G space.....only install the one you really need to most.
I have successfully installed Kodi, astro on the go and youtube (TV version)......all working well

For my case, after i upgrade from 10mbps to 30mbps, speedtest cannot reach 30mbps..then TM replace modem and router for me for free.. 

yeah.. they also pushing me to upgrade.. ill ask same like u.. all item rplace or not, they say no.. but warranty extended like contract..
do still rejecting offer.. haha..

btw, i like more the old tv box, coz faster and less interface, direct to hypptv. the display on tv also more clear/sharp than the new box.

Ya.. That's what the SA told over the phone. Says, contract and warranty will be renewed and if any problems, they'll come replace. I refuse cuz I've been using the same equipment for far too long.. Want the fresh stuffs.. 
Oh, the latest box does not auto-launch the Hypptv channels upon power up? Well, that's a bummer... Ya, I'll keep declining till they offer a better price package and or agree to upgrade the equipment. Worst case scenario, after contract's up, will terminate and subscribe as new. 

Yep.new box, Powering up need to wait like initializing..
And the picture quality to me like not very good compare to old box..
Its like depending on network bandwith.
Donno about others..

hey guys, i tried to install apk from es file explorer and i get this error message saying "Parse error: There was a problem parsing the package". when i click on the apk it doesn't give the version info, size or package name. any ideas?

About the pq, a few forummers posted recently that some boxes or the network are problematic and so won't output at 1080p/i ... But after calling TM for a reset or so, it became okay.. You are probably facing a similar issue..
Sounds like a bad apk file.. Re-download it from a reputable source.. Should install.

My case pending since 4/10, TM still no update for me about HyppTV resolution issue..

Those able to get update version from TM, please share your info..so I can provide to TM..

Try change hdmi port on your tv...maybe the port fault or else the hdmi cable problem...just try

managed to install kodi, astroonthego and es explorer

all is working fine but now, i frequently get the insufficient disk space error and i check my space is now 0MB

how do u all solve the insufficient disk space error, tried clearing all the cache but still happen. now i cannot watch kodi without interuption. keep stopping because of no free space

any workaround for this? all advise are welcomed n thx

Move your kodi to sdcard.  Google kodi android storage.

I have around 20 apps but my Kodi only has one add on and it still has 450MB now. You have a lot of things in Kodi?

yup, guess the apk file wasn't working and i downloaded it from apkpure.com and it worked.
is anyone using MX Player? i can't seem to get the working latest version of the apk file. wanna use it to watch Torrent Stream Controller. majority is in Russian but the MX Player should be able to change the audio file to English.
