anyone here who already successfully update your hypptv to new firmware, please show the steps.

Step that I went through:
- change the port from port 4 to port 3 in router
- Goto router, change WAN - DNS to 1.9.1.9
- goto HyppTV Setting, Upgrade, key in 3008
- server address: 1.9.22.82:8082 then click Confirm


Still not able to get the firmware update..

I have the box but not using it anymore. Using other box. Just want to ask, is it possible to completely install stock huawei android tv os on it? Want to make it as 2nd android box for my kids.

That IP might be wrong. If your STB is set to Unifi mode, just leave it on port 4 and use http://10.0.194.158:8082. If STB is set to Streamyx mode, connect to any port for Internet and use another IP that starts with http://210.187.19.170:8082. DNS shouldn't matter as the upgrade server is an IP address and not a domain name. After upgrade to latest firmware, maintenance code will be changed and server address will be greyed out/can't edit.

I did not need to do anything and my STB auto updated. I never messed with anything that's locked with the maintenance code though.

I did also reset my box and set the login details. Yes, the server ip for system upgrade is already preset to http://10.0.194.158:8082

I click confirm and upgrade now but I saw the error "Upgrade config not exist" in the Main Page.

Still have no idea what is going on.

Maybe not your turn yet. I know different customer / STB get the upgrade on different days but don't know how they release the upgrade and how long it takes before everyone gets it.

still android 4.4.2?

Still same Android. New launcher/homescreen and Netflix integration which is yet to be activated. Refer to the other Unifi TV thread for more info.

maybe coming soon TM will active Netflix for all unifi tv subscriber or for only Ultimate Pack subscriber

i seriously hope they prepare well and do a good job if they ever put netflix on it.

as it is, the "HD" movie channels aren't good quality, low bit rate, i think... doesn't even look 720 to me... maybe 576.

lower quality than many other HD streams incl astrogo.

if they incl netflix at that quality and incr iptv package price, it will be a shame.

The HD channels look ok to me... 720p or 1080i. The only ones with issues are all the Chinese HD channels. They have dropped to SD/576i quality for ages. Have mentioned this long ago in the other thread and have complained to TM too but nothing changed. I wonder what tier of Netflix are they going to give. Also that STB is so laggy for everything else such as Iflix so I don't know how the Netflix experience will be like. Hope they make it possible to login on TV app other than STB if they do give free access. They probably have problems getting Netflix on the STB as it took them this long from the agreement they made with Netflix way back in 2017.

It's already shown in my Unifi TV account under purchased packages section for some time already but can't be accessed yet. I'm on Ultimate pack.

natgeo people, bbc earth - those are OK.

fox movie, fox action, paramount - they dun look 720 to me.
chinese movies - very poor.
worse if u use the app on capable devices.
compared to other same channel online streams, they are v poor.
the only explanation is they need to drive cost down, pay less for lower quality.
something i am not hopeful will change.

Maybe the movie channels drop to SD again. Haven't watched those recently. Last time Fox Action did drop to SD but went back to HD after someone complained to TM according to the Unifi TV thread. If they decide to drop to SD, they should have removed 'HD' from all those channels name.

Unless they release and replace the current STB with a Netflix certified HW or somehow get certification and release an ATV OS fw update (neither I think will happen).. Absolutely nothing can be done legally. It'll be restricted as other non-certified devices to <540p max. Plus the box has poor video output. There's no helping that either.

This netflix on hyppbox thingy came up becos some reported new box appear to have provision for it.

Really, i dun see how that can happen... it will cost too much... new box for all, licensing... how to recover the spending?

Charge more when so many want to opt out?!

Unifitv is better off selecting and spending on better channel packages, and improving the hd quality of the movie channels.

Esp the chinese ones. The current ones are old stuff, low quality, SD. There r much better HD ones... available in hk and tw.

It might be the free preview channels with poor quality..
