Yes. Unroot bootloader than flash custom recovery through adb/fastboot commands n than flash chainfire supersu.zip through recovery mode.
If you checked the web few sites recommend using genius software but is all BS as this software fails to root

U mean unroot or unlock bootloader...? Unlock via Huawei weblink?

Most of the time Kirin SoC does not play nice with one-click root/proprietary root apps. So, for novice user that requires root access, ADB command will make them scratch their head...LOL

Can change the DPI reso like many other Huawei devices?

Sorry unlock bootloader
Is just a simple one sentence command to flash recovery : eg fastboot flash recovery twrp.img. Nothing complicate or difficult
Had never bother ever trying change dpi in all my previous HW phones. If rooted don't see why one cannot change it

Thanks for the input.

I believe the radio signal for P8 Max is at top notch knowing that Huawei internals under the hood is no. 1 in signal strength for GSM, WCDMA, LTE as well as WiFi. Correct?

Absolutely no problems. HW traditionally is strong in this vs all other phone manufacturers.

Get this only if you like a bigger display. N is main reason why I bought it. Is quite similar to Mate7 n its battery life appears much better. Main cons in HW phones are its slow updates especially on Msian models
Had mentioned earlier minor deficiences in China phone on Google issues but easily settled

Multi windows only works in default UI
I never had problems fitting even bigger Nexus7 in my deep side pockets of pants n 3/4 shorts. I don't n had never ever wear any jeans in my life!!

Hi Uncle Benny, thanks for the heads up.

As per PM, someone on G+ Huawei forum mentioned that he could write using a standard capacitive stylus like a normal notepad ie with palm rejection.

Could you please test this, as this is the most important point for any device that is a paper replacement.

As to radio performance, when I had my X1, it beat all my other devices in terms of reception and speed. I believe too that this is where Huawei excels.

Unable to write if one hand is on display. Why need to put hand on display when one can easily grip its sides??!
Scrolling n moving among screens , selection n execution of app no issue if one hand on display
Writing with stylus can never ever match Note4 accuracy, smoothness n efficiency !!

When I wenr to a hotel then go out for dinner at a restaurant few blocks away. My Mate 7 still can detect the wifi and browse altho the signal is very2 weak. Wherelse my Z3 and my fren's 5s cant even detect the wifi.

Just recieved my 2nd firmware update on the p8max
This China set really get regular updates unlike all HW Msian sets updates are rare n lucky you will get one in a year.
I experienced similar scenarios in all previous HW Msian sets - while I see 4-5 updates within 6 months for China n Euro sets , Msian sets remain unchanged for more than 6-9 months!!

I paid RM 2160 for the 64GB ( China set) .. the prices overseas are even worse : Nearest Thailand is RM2100+ BUT only for 32GB and China itself is RM2.4K.
In Europe it is a staggering : 32 GB for Euro 549 ( RM 2652) and 64GB for Euro 649 ( RM 3136) - blame the depreciating ringgit for these pricing !!

It is up to you to decide whether the higher price of P8Max is worth it over the lower end X2
I decided to buy it as I find the pricing of the 64GB is attractive enough . I still don't know how the seller can sell at such a lower pricing vs China itself ??

Just type p8 max in search box and you can see it. Price has now INCREASE to RM 2250
http://www.lelong.com.my/6-8-huawei-p8-max...6-07-Sale-P.htm

The P8 Max is of very obvious nicer build quality ( looks much classier) , slightly slimmer and thinner cum lighter. Its chip is higher end Kirin 935 vs 930 of X2. Its WIFI is more featured : Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, DLNA, WiFi Direct, hotspot vs Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, hotspot. Storage option of P8Max is 32 or 64 gb vs 16 or 32GB for X2

Again is your choice to decide whether it is worth it !
