not always lah. sometimes hit rm1k, sometime a little bit more than 1k (cuz previously i only had 2 cards: wise & amex).

now i added cimb cr and hlb mach, i can shift those non-Wise categories to other cards dy.

since wise is strict on the requirements, we also play a little wiser to spend lesser than 1k, if possible

u can easily control the amount spent on mobile (e.g. self care or uobpayonline) and petrol (e.g. preset during pump).

however, for grocery (real purchases, not those tng reloads), you cant really contol the actual amount charged, unless u go search every single item in the store with exact price




Grocery spent:

Aeon RM47.45 (groceries)
Aeon Big RM71.00 (1 electrical item)
Jaya Grocer RM200.00 (tng reload)
Mydin RM96.60 <-- final spent to hit RM415.05, so that total cashback hits RM100. i can try hitting RM96.55 at Mydin, but it's tedious la :lol

my purpose is to hit multiples of RM5 in each category, e.g. RM415 instead of RM410 or 420.


well, i only do this every other months (if not >RM985), just for the heck of doing it.

actually, if already APPROVED but waiting for the card, then it's ok lah. just need to wait a bit longer than usual.

statement is generated based on account, not the physical card le. no harm la, cuz no outstanding, etc.

since the statement already out, then you can decide whether to change the bill date

definitely not cheaper. Sam's and Jaya Grocer are targeting up-market customers.

correct, that's what the staff asked me as well, which specific bill i'm paying cuz they need to choose the option on the POS screen.

as a rule of thumb, just inform/enter the account numbers without any special characters (usally "-" present on account number format for most bills).

i asked before. tng accepted for bill payment.

my guess is possible. try asking first.

1) 6 bills = 6 times entry for epay.
2) Sam's POS would consolidate all 6 items (from epay) into single receipt.
3) you pay one time for Sam's.

even if u use posonline to pay iwk using Wise, dont think you get any rebate from the card since only TNB and SYABAS bill payment is tagged.

with gst, effective fee is 2.12%.

when i gotten my Wise, the branch doenst know anything about the form.

when i gotten my Mach, the branch already got the form and filled up for me. under "Type of Credit Card/ Debit Card", he filled in Others: ALL


better prepare the form yourself and ask them to fax to HQ directly. save yours and their time (as usual, they would claim they dont know anything, refuse to check, bla bla bla).

remember, HLB tracks on posting dates within calendar month ya.

generally, transactions are posted 1-2 days after transaction date. on some rare occasion (due to merchant), the posting >3 days.

this is why it's advisable to complete your transactions few days earlier from end-of-the-month..

activate it ASAP to start paying ur bills!!

an advise, try paying 1st time RM50 for your TNB using uobpayonline. get used to it, observe the process (e.g. TAC/OTP), then wait for 2 days* and view in your HLConnect.

*why need to wait 2 days? generally, pay today (day 0), posted to your card account tomorrow (day 1), viewable in hlbconnect the following day (day 3).


now you have about 6 working days (recommended) to maximize Sep cashback. try not to use the card after 28th, just in case it got posted over in Oct instead of Sep.

hlb tracks transactions that you initiated, not how many tnb accounts

as a general rule of thumb, 1 transaction = 1 OTP. you can also "stack" multiple payments in uobpayonline, so that it will trigger payment one after another (with OTP each).


yes, maxis online (maxispay) is under MOBILE bonus category. you can also use it to pay other accounts too (e.g. for friends and family)

usually, wait for few hours. since this is weekend, it may be next working day.

you should get notitifcation via your email. with the status of the payment. then you can check the payment history in uobpayonline.
