Dear Ayumi,

I am currently doing research work. I wasn't sure to choose between U2515H or U2715H. The different in costs is RM785.

I am doing a lot of coding for numerical calculation. Image processing for my experiments. Excel postprocessing for experimental and computational data.

Probably a long list of row and column.

in my office I am using 21.5 inch x 2 Full HD. When doing Image processing (The camera let say 1 mega pixel 1024x1024) if fit to full screen some tab and function bar is missing due to the size.

Also I do a lot of reading for papers/technical reports on PC although I always prefer to print them out and read. I wonder if 27 inch and 25 inch makes a big diff. It really bothers me. As I know with bigger size I can display more stuff which means it easier for readability. I probably need do a bit of scaling as using new window 10. Will pair my monitor with my laptop. If they are doing good. I might take it to my office as replacement for daily use 6 hours daily can go up to 8 - 10 hours. (I am wear spec and always feel uncomfortable with PC)

Do you have any exp with 27 inch vs 25 inch. The review is very helpful but I still not sure if the price difference is justifiable.

Thanks =)

Meanwhile, will the monitor appears to be bluish? As i have seen some other monitor that my friend have before returning U2515H in keeping ASUS monitor. The colour might be diff. Some appears to be yellowish, some appear to be bluish.

Basically, I am looking for one that display images crisp and good reability and allow good multitasking.

Kind regards,
J

Currently I'm using U2713HM (27 inch) and U2515H (25 inch). In my experience, they look identical in terms of the picture quality. However, the font's + icons + etc looks crispier (sharper) in the 25 inch. For long hours of reading, I set my monitor font size to roughly 150% (so a 2560x1440 will look like 2048x1536) but I could easily read the browser/pdf text from 6~7 feet away.

If money and desk space is a non-issue, I would go for the 27 inch, the fonts are much larger, easier to the eyes to read smile.gif

Get the latest model U2715H instead of the older model such as U2713HM as they tend to generate more heat.
Newer models uses better LG panels.

Dell U2515H have a few modes you can choose as well as your custom one where you can set the RGB (Red Green Blue).
If it's too blue, you can set it less blue-ish.
Or purchase a monitor calibration hardware to setup the monitor color.
If you purchased monitor from IdealTech, they provide free monitor calibration.

Having 2 monitors provides better multi-tasking than a single monitor smile.gif

Note: Also ensure that your computer motherboard has HDMI or DisplayPort that supports 2560x1400 native resolution, else you would not be able to experience the sharpness of the monitor.
The U2515H and U2715H does not come with any DVI or VGA input.

I am interested in the U2515h.
I will use mainly for my work (Computer programming).
I have doubt know how to see all the text with 2K resolution, because I am very concerned if I see all too small in 25 inches.
Because of this I am also interested in the U2415 instead ... someone can advise me? Thank you!.

IMO.. U2515H > U2415... Text should be crisper and if it's too small, there's always scaling. At the end of the day, you need to answer if you prefer 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio.

If you do programming, grab the one with 16:10 if you are going with smaller monitor resolution.
For 2560x1440 resolution, U2515H also works fine for computer programming, but 1920x1080 not comfortable (preferred if its 1920x1200).

Bought the U2515H but can't seem to be able to get 2560x1440.
Could it be because I'm using HDMI output from my Asus 5450 display card ?

It could.. For capable Nvidia cards, one needs to create a manual profile to force the extra resolution. Try that.

I'm not very good with IT :-(
I'm using a ASUS 5450 Graphic Card, can share how to create "manual profile" also will it damage the Card or Monitor in the long run ?

Why isn't this profile available/included in the 5450 Graphic Card - low end ?

Thanks.

Did some light reading and as far as I can tell, the ATI Radeon HD 5450 (1GB) graphics card can support up to a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600, but possibly only through DVI. HDMI goes up to 1920 x 1080p.

Source.

That's my graphic card. But as the U2515H does not have a DVI input, I use HDMI and the highest available is 2048 X 1152 which I'm using(shown in Catalyst Control Center desktop properties).
That's why I'm confused. Is it my Graphic Card limitation or HDMI limitation ?
I tried email to Dell but the reply was no help.

I've gotten to accept this resolution until I saw this thread and decided to try my luck. :-)

Can you confirm your HDMI cable's version? Also, check around the AMD catalyst control center for manual display resolution configurations. See if you can create a custom resolution.

Highly recommend the U2515H. But if u decide to go for 24", please go for the new U2417H. U will not be disappointed with the InfinitiEdge border.

Haha... not so soon i think. Need to save up for the U2717D first and once I get it, I'll hafta sell off my U2715H.

And by the way, very good review of the U2515H by TS. Very detailed and extensive.
It'll definitely help others to make their decision.

Not sure about the version for HDMI cable - got it from one of the Apple Store and its genuine.
Will look around for manual display configuration in Catalyst.

Thanks.
