what screen resolution are you looking for?
2560x1440 or 1920x1080?

The 2560x1440 resolution will cost somewhat around double of 1920x1080 monitor.

The cheapest 2560x1440 is RM 900 including tax/shipping. Its the Shimian monitor imported from Korea by group buy.

Should be 1920x1080.

I am not technical enough, any diff to naked eyes if get 1440 vs 1080? I can buy Shimian from LYN?

Not much difference, just the sharpness.

Also, the higher resolution allows you to put 2 windows side by side which is very convenient when you are in need to do referencing.

1920x1080 resolution is kinda small (1920 / 2 = 960 pixels per window) not great for browsing or document reading.

Shimian can be purchased via group buy from LYN.

Just bought this monitor yesterday, the color and image are awesome.

However my panel have 1 small grey/black pixel stays on middle part of screen, wondering will I be able to claim 1 to 1 exchange for that?

Also for 1 to 1 exchange izzit onsite service or we have to pack and ship it back and wait for replacement?

you can contact Dell support at 1800 88 0022 regarding this issue . let us know if they do support 1to1 replacement for a dead pixel.

from what I have experienced, they send me a new monitor and later I send to them the one that had issues.

Hi Guys!I have one question about Dell u2515h.Will I be able to run World of Warcraft on 1440p resolution not ultra settings via hdmi with descent fps?
And can i drop resolution to 1080 p without any effect on the image quality of gaming and browsing?

How it looks like the monitor when the image is not in native resolution,is it blurry or stretched?

I have lap top acer aspire nitro
i5 4210h cpu
nvidia gtx 860m gpu
8 gb of ram

Thank you in advance if anyone can help me I'd like to buy it as soon as possible. icon_question.gif

It will not look good in both gaming and office work if the monitor isn't set at its native resolution. It will not look decently sharp/crisp in the fonts and artwork.

I am and aged software developer, my sight is not good already. I need good text viewing, some how good colors and eye friendly monitor. So I am thinking to buy Dell U2515H and use it @ 2048x1152 res. With it's native 2560 x 1440 resolution texts will be smaller. I wonder how it's interpolation@2048x1152. Or do you recommend 24inch 1920x1200 like U2415?

TIA

It's still best to keep the Dell U2515H at its native resolution which is 2560x1440.
The moment you reduce the resolution, the fonts in IDE/Text-Editor/Browser and desktop-icons/images seems not sharp/crisp to the eyes.
The method I used to make it easy to the eyes is to set its font size in Windows Settings to 150%.
This way, I can read the words/fonts easily 2 or more arms away from the monitor without squinting my eyes.

For programming/video-rendering/photoshopping, I would recommend you to get at least 2560x1440, so you can have 2 tabs open to compare between classes (1 tab = 1280x1440 + 1280x1440).
With dual monitors at 2560x1440, you can use it to perform code referencing easily. 4 tabs open as shown in the review posted in the first page.

Below are some pictures taken with my phone of my Dell U2515H at 1 arm's length away (approximately 60 cm)

2048 x 1152 at 100% font size
This one is still too small for my eyes to comfortably read 1-2 arms away. Might be straining for some users.

This one is still okay for my eyes to comfortably read 1-2 arms away. The fonts/images does not seem sharp.

Thanks for your efforts, really appreciated. You are right, I may use it with 125% but I experienced that, this time, some web pages are not displayed correctly. Overlapping images, menus etc. Some Windows drop-down menus have same overlapping issues. Some windows icons are becoming blurry. So I thought instead of increasing font/display size within Windows, reducing display resolution and calibrate display in Windows may produce better text/image quality.

Actually I do not need too much area, something bigger than 1920x1080 will be fine. So that's not a concern for me.

What about calibrating display within Windows(10) @2048x1152? Does it make any difference? I think it can improve sharpness of texts, or am I wrong?

The one in the photoshot I have is Windows 10, and I have yet to experience those issues that you have mentioned above (overlapping images, menus, drop-down menus, etc).
What operating system are you currently using?

If you do not need the extra resolution of 2560x1440, you might want to go with 1920x1200 instead of 1920x1080 at 21-23-24 inch monitor since it will be quite helpful in programming-coding environment. Can read more lines of codes.

For my monitor, I did not use any professional calibration software or hardware, but manually tweaked accordingly according to my eyes comfort (like white background does not seem yellowish/grayish in text editor, etc). The fonts/text are pretty sharp after my 10~15 minutes manual calibration smile.gif

Toolbar of SQL Server Management Studio. Icons are blurry.

You can clearly see combobox position problem and label of "Computer"

I am totally confused. Price between U2515H and U2415 is about USD 100 in my country, and worth for U2515H. I have no chance to test them on retail shop because there are any.

Based on my experience, it's best to buy the best monitor that meets your needs first, then save up to a budget which you can afford.

If you do not need the extra I/O connections to the monitor and resolution workspace, then go for the U2415H.
This model also saves you some $$$ if you do not need those features from U2515H.

What monitor model you are currently using?
How many monitors you are using connected to your pc?
What is the monitor resolution and windows font size (100%, 125%, 150%) for each of the monitors ?

Will need to understand your situation, help answer the questions below:

Are you using Dell U2515H monitor?
Are you using more than 1 monitor? If yes, are all of the monitor Dell U2515H?
The monitor is connected via HDMI or Display Port?
Your monitor is connected to your desktop PC motherboard or PC graphic card or Laptop?
