i think something is wrong with me. i've been squatting for the past few months. a very very casual gym goer here (once a week) everytime i squatted, i experience severe DOMS for the week. I need almost one whole week for my legs to recover and able to walk normally again. i don't think my friends who lift have ever such problems. it's daily life-affecting kind of DOMS. my ques is: is it because i squat not frequent enough? due to the soreness, i squat biweekly...

Try stretching after squating when your workout is done. Also try foam rolling.

If you do high reps then go for light weights. If you do heavy then finish your routine (eg. 5sets of 3reps) and get out. Don't go to failure or do more even if u could.

normal la, last time usually my doms for leg last for a day, to a day and half
the doms affects me to the extend of having problem standing up from chair and sitting down, let alone climbing stairs
then i started to take multivit, started to increase protein intake, started to rest more(as in sleep well sleep better) + stretching + foam rolling, now i can squat 3 times a week, with absolutely no doms at all, i can even squat the next day after i squat heavy today, but of course i wont have the strength to go as heavy

Never had DOMS already training 4 months+ nor I ever had a "pump" during training. Never stretched, sometimes don't even warmup.
Only DOMS on first day.

Lots of stretches and lots of water and proper sleep (7-8 hours) helped me on DOMS

I rarely have this problem. The worst that I had was when I started squatting. After a while, I no longer get this problem. Unless I added more weights to the bar then I might have some mild doms. Though I squat twice per week. Maybe your body have not adjusted to it, when you say bi-weekly you mean you squat twice per week or once every 2 weeks?

Actually yesterday I tried to progressively increase the load for successive sets and the doms today isn't as bad.

Getting Started

|
I don't think u are having doms. I think it's tendonitis. Becareful not to overdo or lift too heavy until injured. And remember to warm up and proper technique and posture when doing squats.
