Hi Bud,

Thanks for replying.

I updated my build as follows.

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 865
Gigabyte H170-Gaming 3 (RM 589)
GSKill Ripjaws V 8GB (4GB x 2) DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 329
Palit GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Jetstream - RM 1499
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 199
Seasonic S12II 620W - RM 299
Thermaltake Versa H24 - RM 135
Acer XB240H - RM 999

Total: RM 4994 (Idealtech price inclusive of GST)
For the monitor,Im only concerned with the 144hz refresh rate. Cheapest 144HZ 24" I could find at Idealtech

Regards

Everything seems fine now.

Just that I personally still thought it is overpriced to pay over RM500 (perhaps I should factor in the devalue of MYR?) for a H-series mobo. But again its your money and your choice, if you can and willing to pay, why not. sweat.gif

Hi,

Not really a choice I think. 1151 socket boards running on DDR4  are pretty limited. Cheapest I could find is

Asrock H170 Professional at 519.

Unless my understanding of DDR4/DDR3 1151 Socket compatibility is incorrect. If that's the case do correct me
*
The mobo either support DDR4 or else its DDR3. No mobo with support for both types yet at the moment AFAIK.

As for mobo, the cheapest I saw from Idealtech is this, ASROCK B150M-HDV, it cost RM365 (or 315 on bundle). It should be workable for your configuration too.

What I mean is that for a DDR4 system. So you'd recommend building a DDR3 system instead ( cheaper rams and mb too)?
*
It's still a DDR4 system.

Weird. I can't find it on the system builder menu. I can Only see h and z boards from the 1151 Asrock boards
*
Asrock's board availability vary from a region to another, some models may not be available in a region or vice versa for another.

Ahh. I see. On the board, I do see it in the price list.

I guess a more cost efficient build will be as follows

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 865
Asrock B150M-HDV - RM 315
GSKill Ripjaws V 8GB (4GB x 2) DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 329
Palit GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Jetstream - RM 1499
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 199
Seasonic S12II 620W - RM 299
Thermaltake Versa H24 - RM 135
Acer XB240H - RM 999

Total RM4640

Yes, this build is more cost efficient.

Hi sorry for 1st time posting here without official template. Im asking for commendations, suggestions

[Purpose] Gaming

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 3
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB
RAM: G Skill RipjawsX 2x4GB
PSU: M12II-620EVO
Case: NZXT S340 Black Red

GPU: ?
Monitor: ?

Thank you in advance

Pairing a Z97 with Intel Pentium will not do the justice for gaming performance (even if you manage to OC it to 5Ghz), minimum you will need an i3/i5 for more solid performance.

If price is the issue you opt for a Pentium at first place, I will rather pair an i3 with h81 instead.

Looking to buy a new PC after having mine for 6 years already

[Budget] RM3k (can increase a bit if there are significantly better parts)

[Purpose] Dota 2, web browsing, assignments, watching Twitch (plan to stream in the future if the rig supports it, not urgent)

[Hardwares that will be re-use] keyboard and mouse

[Monitor resolution] 1080p

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Dota 2, also able to play upcoming games with okay-ish to good quality (not urgent)

[Personal preferences] prefer Intel and Nvidia, also need Windows

[Location] Low Yat Plaza

Would like to purchase from a single shop that can help me to assemble the PC, cause I'm not good at it myself sweat.gif

So is 3k with or without monitor?

Thanks for the suggestion, Terrence.

Hmm..yea, I guess I should upgrade my graphic card too while I'm at it. Follow-up question - if I bump up my budget to around RM 2000, can I get an i5, or a better graphic card?

Please advise. Thanks.
*
Nope, i5 cost minimum RM700+

Next tier of GPU is GTX960 or R9 380, and they are almost RM900.

Thanks terence for helping, if i plan to change to geforce card, what card should i get? And is the price include casing? Thank you very much for helping .

GTX970 (price start bout 1.3k) is the one to go, but if budget tight then it will be GTX960 (price start bout 800+).

Yes, the Thermaltake Versa is the casing.
