Nice Tubular Dooms. Triple black not my thing, and also incredibly hard to come across any for sale here. Love tha tans, and really wouldn't mind a pair of the greys.
I am really, really curious to find out how the Tubular and Boost soles will wear over time. Four days a week, I am not able to wear sneakers. Most weeknights, I prefer slippers. Weekends... with the weather, sometimes slippers also senang-mah! Long story short, I probably wear one pair per week (occasionally two). Can they survive the test of time (especially with our humidity)? ![]() Almost none of the shoes above are alive. AJ3s crumbled, AM90 crumbled, Air Yeezy sole melted, Pinoys air unit gave way. The premes are wearable, but the soles have hardened and are slippery when walking in malls. How do you sneakerheads rotate your shoes? Anyone else in my situation? |

Office network has blocked the vid, but I'll watch it when I'm home later tonight. Admittedly, these were shoes that were stored in the closet downstairs and literally crumbled. I've uploaded a collage before, but here's a detailed look:
![]() ![]() To me at least, the air unit is another, separate issue. For example, on my forces, when the air unit has given way, you can feel the lack of support, although the midsole is still holding on. The Yeezys... the midsole was simply melting. Bear in mind it spent most of its time boxed in a cupboard, away from sunlight and in an air conditioned room. My other maxes (in the same room) also ended up crumbling, although not so dramatic as the ones stored downstairs. |

Tonight, I finally found my long time grails. Deadstock Air Force 1 Untaiwans. If I remember correctly, these were 2002 JD exclusives and were only the second pair of Nikes to ever get the gradient swoosh. The other pair were the Taiwan AF1. I passed on them because I didn't like the red to blue gradient.
Finding a pair took two years, and these were pretty much the last pair I bought before I gave it all up. Deadstock, never worn. Here's how they looked when I got them: ![]() This is how they look like today, after almost a decade of slumber: ![]() ![]() I nearly cried a little tonight. Don't know what's happened to the swoosh, but there's clear patina, but the blue seems to have faded? Sigh... |
