I feel that the reviewer could've brighten up the screen for K3N though.

Current led colour u've seen is just a matter of their default color setting

Do note, the led could be set unto any color natively
There's a lot of 3rd party apps help I achieve such thing
I know about 3rd party apps, but I have tried a few and they aren't working.

Did you manage to achieve the same for K3N?

Because on my end I can pretty much confirm that the LED will only show red and green. The only app that has semi-worked for me was Light Flow, where there is an option to control the LED hardware files directly. When that is activated, no other color can be chosen except green - the test would light it up only in green.

Can anyone confirm if they are able to get different colors for the LED notification using 3rd party apps?

My test results: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3571148/+458#

I think is the rom issue and i think the led is multi color. Looks at the youtube K3N notification setting. Their last setting is "other" while our K3N is also other but written is for Wechat, QQ and Weibo. Anyone using this 3 apps? How is the notification on this 3 apps?
*
Yeah, I think it's ROM issue too. I'm using WeChat, got notification but it's green only.

I'd like to know if such settings are the same for the international ROM when it's out.

This thread has grown a ton..

Haven't had the time to go through all the posts from where i had left.

Just 2 things I'd like to say..

Switching from 4.7inch to 5.5inch - extra care needed when handling phone. I dropped my phone twice cause i was still treating it like a smaller phone. Thanks to the nilkin silicone casing that i have, the screen didn't crack. But also thanks to its partial and not all rounded protection, the phone suffered a dent. I've gotten an aluminum casing since then. There's a reason why this phone is so damn light - it lacks the "armor".

2ndly.. Problems when receiving connection via another hotspot enabled device - the phone would just so often freeze in locked screen or black screen if 1. The other device's hotspot is turned off midway, 2. Turning off wifi connection on my phone which doesn't allow it to happen; a restart of the phone before allowing 1. And 2. happen is the current best temporary solution.

So, tell me about the latest India ROW..

Dun quite understand on item 2
Mine on row rom no isu with hotspot or wifi

My phone - the receiving end from another phone's hotspot. Say right now the other phone switches off its hotspot, my phone will go out of whack. Either i won't be able to turn on the screen for the next 10mins or the screen comes up but will be stuck in lock screen.

Or, say if I'm done using it and i turn off my wifi connection (which i won't be able to), my phone would also freeze for another 10-15mins. If I'm unable to restart the phone properly i will need to remove and reinsert batt. Long story short: hotspot problem, my phone being on the receiving end. If i enable hotspot for others to use, no problem.

How does india ROW rom compare to china rom? Does it allow OTA to happen without fail? What's the latest version?

Guys, I just came back to the country.

Any updates you all want me to post on the first page please let me know eg. flashing steps, latest international versions, Chinese versions etc.

Try to avoid redundancy if you see that someone has already posted something similar to what you want to post to avoid confusion. Thanks!

I've sent the unit to the service center and they told me that it was the phone problem and they will send it back to HQ. Not sure where that is but I guess I bought a lemon unit.. Have to wait for about 2 weeks for it.

In my case I've had such problems before on charging but found out eventually that it's because of the USB cable.

Guys, since I'm not always here to post updates and all, is there anyone who would like to volunteer to open a new thread to get the first page frequently updated?

Let me know, thanks.

You may flash this ROM even if you phone is rooted or with 3rd party recovery or with custom rom!

Have you tried this ROM yet? Anyone else tried this? How does it fare?

I like the idea of ROW ROM in that the updates are easy, no need to flash/reflash etc.

The problem with having rooted phones..

Is that I cannot install my company's email using AirWatch and I cannot install Astro-On-the-Go cause the device has been 'compromised'.

Would unrooting the device using SuperSU help?

It is true. If your car is stationary, sometimes it would take awhile for it to lockdown its position. If you're underneath a flyover (eg. Mont Kiara to Sri Hartamas there), it would start acting funny by readjusting its position.

However, it is a leap in improvement when compared to its predecessors. I heard previous gen MTK chips, you cannot even use Waze. It's not the case for this one.

If you drive Uber/Grabcar, I would suggest some other phone. Otherwise, this is a great phone of its time. I did survive driving Uber full time with this phone for 2 months though biggrin.gif

Use it first and then see how it goes bro.

On the heating issue someone else asked, when it reaches a certain temperature threshold, a warning will pop up - that's what I love about the phone. Usually, and I really mean usually, this happened when I had my phone connected to a power bank and left on the car dashboard on a sunny day without the aircond turned on while waiting to pick up customers lol.

Otherwise, it will never heat up too much, don't worry. It's a good buy for its price and for the stuffs that it does. I think this phone will outlast my Samsung Galaxy S3's 'tenure' of 2.5 years. Even today, I think the battery's still not too shabby after 2 full months of driving Uber. The battery will never truly be 'dead' as an inbuilt feature will auto-shutdown the phone before it gets drained rock bottom. This feature prolongs the lifespan of the battery cells.

My battery consumption has increased a lot recently.

I didn't update OS or anything. I also used another spare ori battery which is pretty 'healthy' compared to the one I've been using.

I only use wifi, and it gets cut off at intervals when the phone is not being used, and then reconnects again later.. and I have these 2 whatsapp groups - one of them I can get up to 1k+ message in less than 24 hours so I'm not sure if it's due to this.

Consumption stats are quite inconsistent too.. sometimes CPU more than screen, sometimes contact book more than Opera/Whatsapp (500+ times it prevents CPU from sleeping), sometimes the other way round.

I'm puzzled. I didn't make any major settings change. Maybe it's due for an OS upgrade lol.

Just curious, is anyone STILL using this phone? I'm thinking of installing the latest stable OS version (too kiam to get another phone). I have been using the same version since 2015. Frequent hang keis, lags and memory leaks, figured it's about time.
