Anyone here using smart home automation?

Control your aircond and lights from smart phone, lightings from smart phone and smoke detector sends signals to smart phone and etc.

More then that
I have developed cloud based system in which you can schedule your home appliances on/off time etc.
Even do the minutes billing

Maybe you could consider flashing custom firmware on it
No need to rely on cloud since it's controlled in your own home network.

The problem is, it rely on many thing to function.

Even no cloud, still have to go through your network and the provider.

Anyone tried putting Sonoff into the light switches?

Say I wanted to use one of the on/off light switch to control a few lights in the living room wirelessly. Initially, I just switch it on/off with my fingers, can I splice the Sonoff into the switch to control wirelessly?

Don't think you can fit the sonoff into the wall switch and you will need a neutral lead
You can try installing it above your plaster ceiling to control a few lights

sonoff light switches need neutral wire, unless your house are laying new wires else it wont support.

Yeah just put next to the light or inside the light before the driver.

No worries, totally new house from ground up so that's why asking first. Was thinking of putting the Sonoff into a light switch box (the ones without the on/off switches) next to the real light switches.

If you have plan, than additional neutral wire to the switch.

New house easy to do.

Finally found the problem - my wifi router. Just reboot then ok liao
I didn't suspect my router because my iPad & iPhone can connect to it no problems
I check the router's list of connected devices, I can see the sonoff is attached.
I also noticed my pana tv cannot find my router's ssid but on my phone I can see it.
After reboot. All ok rclxms.gif

Normal for me.

Last time even worst, I got to put a timer on/off for the modem router everyday. If not, I don't no when I cannot access the server.

Just make it a habit on/off the router modem once a month or few month.
