Doubt that it uses 5Ghz, the 5Ghz wifi also cannot pass the wall. Higher frequency, shorter the waves.
That sensor use Doppler effect to detect motion. No need high frequency for what is essentially a radar
The frequency used by the radar in this case is 3.181GHz. Will not interfere with WiFi.
Both IR and radar detect presence of human by movement. Most IR sensor detect heat grid change in sensor to trigger, not just heat alone. So, if no movement, it will also shut down like radar. Same operation but just different methods.
