QUOTE(SIEWBAO @ Jun 23 2022, 11:07 AM) Hmmm.... should be less than 30 device i guess. Some light, fan, curtain, and aircond. And yes, i wanna use voice control as well. Then a cheap wireless Zigbee gateway will do. As for voice you can check YouTube to make a decision.

QUOTE(SIEWBAO @ Jun 23 2022, 05:25 PM) Is there anything i nid to take note while buying aircond which can link to voice control n smart system? Since aircond got so much button n control instead of just On/Off button. Most of the Smart IR aircon controller can only on/off, adjust temperature only via voice. Other controls is only achievable via scene mode. Check if the brand you are buying have wifi option built-in and is it Alexa/Google compatible and what are the functions available.

QUOTE(Max @ Jul 30 2022, 01:20 PM) For controlling higher power devices, u can wire the smart switch to 'contactor'. Its function like a relay. Smart switch power the relay, the relay power the device (ex: pump/heater) Im going to power my water pump this way because the switch is upstairs. (Currently need to go up to switch on pump) With smart switch can power from anywhere (app or HA interface downstairs) If device is below 32A no need so troublesum, just buy 32A Tuya Zigbee smart switch.

QUOTE(Keatsan @ Aug 16 2022, 09:44 PM) I'm looking to invest into getting Smart Home device for aircon at rooms and lightings at car porch. Looking at the brands such as Sonoff Tuya Zigbee MOES WIZ I'm planning to have it intergrate it with Google Nest Hub. Hence I would have to search for 20A switches and perhaps some module that can work with it. What would be the recommended option for it? Moe's is just another factory that produce Tuya compatible switches etc. As for Wiz seems only wifi available so if you intend to have a lot of devices depends on what router you are using. Zigbee is a protocol not a brand. Both Tuya & Sonoff have Zigbee devices.

QUOTE(nyunyu @ May 29 2022, 01:12 AM) Does anyone know if I can use existing motion sensor (from alarm system) and hook it up to switch on/off lights? Just buy a smart door sensor and used it's contact to link to the dumb sensor and used it to trigger to your smart light/switch.

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Oct 28 2022, 03:43 PM) i'm actually having dilemma between using the switches and sockets on zigbee or on wifi. if on wifi, the smart switches and sockets can easily reconnect if i replace AP, as long SSID and credential remains the same. BUT, i will have tons of DHCP clutter. failure of individual switch or socket is restricted to the affected. if on zigbee, it is soothing on the eye as far as DHCP listing is concerned, BUT, if the zigbee gateway fails, .... all sockets and switches will become offline. right now i am leaning towards the fault tolerance of using wifi over zigbee for switches and sockets. (there is supposedly feature to migrate devices connected through a faulty zigbee gateway to another replacement zigbee gateway, but it's an all or nothing proposition; cannot pick and choose which device transfer to replacement gateway "1st floor" and which transfer to replacement gateway "2nd floor", as example.) Wrong, if you have 2 gateway, it will only migrate to the one you select so 1st floor devices will only goto the new 1st floor.

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Oct 28 2022, 10:23 PM) i haven't test, but what i mean is, based on my understanding reading the documentation:- if i have 10 devices on malfunctioning gateway A, i can only transfer all 10 to replacement gateway B and not selectively 5 to replacement gateway C. Yes, you cannot select, it has to be all on original gateway but your earlier question was different from above scenario. This post has been edited by adamw: Oct 28 2022, 11:24 PM

QUOTE(mikeeeee @ Nov 10 2022, 11:57 AM) How low ? I'm mainly using it with 20w downlights and t5 led tubes. So far no issue with flickering. Based on the specs it should work within 3-120w leds I think 8W above no issues. Btw your switches have neutral? Take Chinese manufacturer's spec with a pinch of salt. QUOTE(mikeeeee @ Nov 10 2022, 01:54 PM) The switch have neutral but my installation is without neutral If it doesn't work u can contact Moes support. I've done that thru the seller in shopee and their technical team will revert with diagrams and videos guide to resolve the issue, these are not generic videos btw. If not resolvable they do offer refund or replacement . So far, pretty happy with this Chinese manufacturer's support I bought direct from MOES china sales at special price. They aware of this issue but cannot be solved. Too many types of led lights in the market. Cannot be 100% sure it will work. They actually not my first preference but only they have no neutral OZ type. OZ not many suppliers doing customized due to small market.
