I saw some review saying Hub with network is more stable, izit true?
Since I already bought Near Hub, I dont have to install Near apps rite? Just Tuya app will do rite?
*
Yes, the RJ45 should be more stable & can also support more devices but the wireless hub also have it's advantage, placement is flexible. You can try installed Tuya/Smartlife app to link the Near ZigBee hub.

I only did some research & contacted a few suppliers. Yours on 220V & I was looking into the DC 48V option for my garage & balcony because I have some solar + DC batteries laying around but KIV for now.

I'm tempted to go for these instead of typical smart light or normal light + smart switch setup. Just unsure about any major cons.... the only thing I can think of is cost and if the driver unit spoil, the whole rail will be down. Another thing is looking for a contractor who knows how to embed the rail into plaster ceiling...

Pros would be the looks of it, and the modularity when it comes to lighting type, can just swap out anytime easily
*
If they are real plaster ceiling contractor, concealing it should be no issue. Normal routine for them.

I want to connect 1 button on smart wall switch to 2 hanging lamps.

If I want it to be selectable, say, if I turn-on-off-on-off-on-on, it will then switch to both lamps or either one, what do I need?

I'm trying to avoid a situation where I need to install those hidden smart switches under the base of the lamp. Will be difficult to reset or reconnect to network if things go wrong.
*
I don't think it's possible to do so ar switch level with 1 gang. Can only install those "hidden" devices at the light itself. But if your 2 lamps live wire is joint at the switch, you can get a 2 gang smart switch to separate it & control them individually.

Hi experts,

I'm thinking of switching out my AC starters with 20A switches + power consumption. Is that safe and we don't need the switches with neutral, right?

I'm also thinking of installing those breakers behind my current switches to check power consumption. Is that smart?

What is the best way to monitor power consumption?
*
AC starter already have neutral and all 20A smart switches also have L+N.

bought a few MOES "16A Zigbee UK wall socket". Just got around to have it installed during recent CNY weekend and last weekend.

Strike 1 - apparently it is only in 13A, description is hoax.

Strike 2 - it only switch on briefly when initially supplied with power. it will switch off a few seconds after, never to come back again until next power recycle. (so i need to play with MCB just to see that few seconds of blip.) I put a desk lamp as load; it never lights up even when appearing switched on (briefly) through Smart Life.

Strike 3 - the Shopee seller is not responding quickly and actively over our 3 days of engagement. I think later he will even question the colour of the wire in my mock proof-of-concept to demonstrate the issue. Or, why I am not installing it in the wall.
*
Please post the seller shopee link so we can avoid buying from them.

Need help 🥲

Just get a 12V to 5v converter, problem solved. If you are in KV I got extra. I used it to convert my 12v solar battery to charged phone & also power up my 5V DC IP camera.

when i started last year, there were already 2 separate apps "Tuya" and "Smart Life".
reading further, "Tuya" is meant for users in Mainland China, "Smart Life" is meant for outside Mainland China. This was told by the support personnel him/herself when I lodge complaint of not being able to log in to "Tuya".
the backend servers for each of the apps are separate.

when i wrote of the difference and mentioned that I was not allowed to login to "Tuya" because it's meant for Mainland China, some of you guys said I was confused and in the wrong.

Dont be surprised. Sometimes it happens even to the best of companies.

Even Xiaomi did this previously. When they are still new, they would let international users login to their app and let consumers import devices from China. However, once they grew big enough, they would start to block international users and then develop another app meant for global users.

I think this is what happening with Tuya right now. I did have an account with them when I first installed some smart switches in my lights. I just reinstalled it and now it is asking to select country. When I look at the list and China was missing from the list, you already see they have begun to separate China servers from the rest of the world. I couldnt log in as well and have to create a new account again. In fact, the app now looks exactly like Smartlife app apart from the Tuya logo.
*
So this does not mean Tuya app is exclusively for China only, just that they are adding region now to the app. Even UNV mobile app same issue, when first started few years ago there was no region & it defaulted to US server so I am stuck with a US server account & all my new customer need registered as US for me to share to them unless I removed all my previous NVR and redo ranting.gif

I have seen a Tuya module that duplicate the keypad to cloud but you need check if it's suitable for Vivos or not. My friend using it for CPT keypad and he says it's very good.

Thanks for the reply and diagram adam, appreciate it. But i think you misunderstood … haha. can i know what model of tuya module your friend used? So that i can look for it, to know the input/ouput/voltage/dry contact requirements so that i can check if my alarm can support it..

really appreciate if you can share the tuya module model/info

As a matter of fact, i think it will work, as you can see my wiring diagram is pretty much the same.. Do share the tuya module model thanks!

Thats what my setup is like, everything goes to HA automation scripts etc and then to HomeKit which all my family members interact with. Just even started using scrypted to get cameras to use HKSV

Did you encountered any missing motions detection when using HKSV as highlighted by the article below? Or already solved?
