Anyone using Xiaomi Temperature Sensor, the round one without air pressure, with Aqara Hub?

Very often, can be 2 hrs to 2 days, it will show as Offline in the Mi Home app. Usually single press the button, hub says "Normal link" and it'll be fine again for another period. Any solution to this?

The square Aqara ones are working well.

Try move to another location or
Swap it with your Aqara one. If the Aqara temp sensor also shows offline then it’s a position problem and somehow it cannot receive the zigbee signal in that location

I've tried that. Initially it was in my office upstairs so relatively far from the hub then it went in the fridge, closer, same floor but in the fridge. Now it's just sitting in the dining hall 10 ft away from the hub. Not sure why it keeps happening. Maybe a defective unit or incompatibility between the Mijia temp sensor and the Aqara Hub. My other square Aqara Temp sensors are working fine in fridge and freezer and upstairs.

Depends on your needs. Something off-the-shelf or DIY? Need Apple Homekit compatibility? I went with Aqara since I use Homekit. Majority of the sensors and switches are Aqara or Mi with a few devices, not wall switches, from Koogeek. Also Wemo but I don't have the Wemo Homekit hub yet.

Oh you using an Aqara Hub?
Previously Mijia devices can’t use with Aqara hub but I thought they solved that. Anyway I dunno then cause I’m using mijia gateway

Yes, Aqara Hub. There was a recent firmware upgrade which allowed pairing of non-Aqara devices such as the aforementioned round Mi Temp Sensor. It works too. Pairs fine. Can see in Mi Home and Homekit. But keeps dropping offline.

Anyway it's a new feature and only a few weeks old. Hope they'll fix it. Was thinking of getting the Gas and Smoke detectors. They're listed as pairable under the Aqara Hub but not sure if there will be any problems. I ordered another non-Aqara device, the Mi Smart Plug. See how well that works.

It's good that they're opening the rest of the Mijia ecosystem to Homekit users via the Aqara Hub. So much more affordable than those other Homekit manufacturers.

There's another player called Xiaoyang which is Homekit enabled. Quite new, hopefully affordable too. Haven't really looked at the offerings yet.

11street, Lazada & Shopee. Wherever is cheaper.

Local sellers homekit.com.my and VisionGadgetry are on 11street, etc... The former has reasonable prices if you don't feel like waiting for a shipment from CN. Ships from Perak. The latter is in Klang. Prices are a bit inflated but they do provide warranty.

I bought my Aqara Hub and Wall Switches (Single) from HomeKit.com.my The rest from CN sellers.

It won’t apply to most people but my son has this habit of closing the fridge extremely gently where the interior light is off but the fridge is not sealed. We tend to find out hours later. A door sensor will work too but the temp sensor came first so I used it and i always wanted to know the temp of my fridge.

There was a tweet from Aqara in November which said 'coming soon' with respect to UK sockets/plugs. You can google for it. That's all I heard of it. Xiaoyang has UK sockets/plugs.
