All app supporting matter would be able to control each other?

So like any matter enabled will be compatible with HomeKit?

My aqara hub already bound to matter via Google, but I'm still waiting for a cheap deal for Google nest mini.

Lo and behold, there was a beta update for my Gen 1 M1S , with support for matter. Ive just updated it and nothing broke yet. But i have yet to update my homekit to the new architecture (because my iMac and older iOS devices dont support it). Once i get some matter devices, probably have to bite the bullet and not be able to control homekit with those obsolete devices.

Thats great! I just feel sayang that if i update to the new architecture to get matter, then my iMac and iPad Air and iPhone 6 Plus would be out of service for homekit. But matter is inevitable. Theres one thing though, for the M1S, i have 2 , one on the Aqara App, and one on Mi Home. The Aqara one was updated to matter compatibility. Not sure how to update the Mi Home one. Anyone knows?

Yes, i would love to have a homekey plugin, but not sure how that would tie into my existing non-homekey Aqara D100 lock. The software for the lock seems to be very tied down, now sure how they can implement that. I can by pass it using a dummy switch now, maybe something along those lines, like a dummy homekey lock, then once that triggers, launch an automation that unlocks the actual lock.

By the way , for HKSV, if im on the 5gb free plan, what happens? Now im still on FFMPEG cos i dont have any icloud storage. Would i need to upgrade to the 2TB one? I have 22 cameras on homekit…

I noticed there's a few plugins available with scryped for the usual camera brand (hikvision/daihua etc)
Could any other generic brand work? Like sricam or other china brand that doesn't expose rtsp port

Guys, i bought dim adjustable led strip with alu casing for ceiling, how do i make it able to control using wireless switch like tis 1? (Tuya version) is there any purchase link to share? Tyvm.

I have the Aqara N200 door lock and found that although it pairs up nicely with the aqara hub that I bought, but it does not function as an offline gateway. Meaning it can only pair up when I am connected to wifi.

If I am looking to connect via bluetooth too, does it mean that I have to invest in another bluetooth gateway?

Anyone automating their curtains with generic or particular branded zigbee smart curtain with z2m in HASS? What to do if the particular model is not supported in z2m?

Am prepping my mini server before migrating it all into the new home. Just want to make sure everything i am planning for is working, getting different kinds of zigbee devices and testing them out.

Just finished making a portable zigbee rain sensor. Used a Tuya zigbee door sensor, soldered the leads of a rain sensor module to it, put it into a housing, and thats it. Now whenever it rains, i get a notification in Tuya App or Apple Home. Didnt go with the leak sensor cos that one has a loud alert, even if you mute your phone at night. 

Pretty pleased with the outcome

Do you still need actual matter devices or just the matter hub like google mini speakers

i hv experience esp8266 chip, the wifi always disconnected.
that y i put esp32 as secondary option.

Yeah, but since it works in HomeKit mode don’t plan to reconnect. Unless I replace hub in the future then can consider 😆.

I have a pair of E1 Smart Switch because seller sent wrongly to me, eventually they sent me D1 replacements so untung lah. First impression the E1 takes much less space behind the switch compared to D1, and its easier to finetune the switch position (mine mostly installed on carpentry without the electricals boxes).

I think the E1 relay sounded louder than the D1, other than that no differences in terms of performance. Need use longer to see if the E1 is as durable as the D1.
