Anyone using those handle style Tuya smart lock? I'm currently using Eva M5. Want to check is it normal that any unlock activity from inside house (exiting from house) is not logged?

A bit dissapointed with this because due to this now, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do my automation (eg: exit house switch off all lights etc)

Having look further I end up getting a Zigbee dongle which allow any Zigbee devices to talk to Home Assistant via Zigbee2MQTT.

That way I got more options in getting switches.

Hopefully it wont backfire on me.

I have 2x E1 (seller sent wrongly, but seller also resend me with new D1). Actually I prefer E1 design than D1, the E1 is easier to replace, no need to peel the case off from bottom like D1.

Yes, my entire home is smart switch (minus 1 of them is my storeroom LOL). Too bad Aqara no 20A switches, else I would change those too. just to have it looking similar .

I have a lot of switches to control those cabinet lights and ambient lighting... having smart switch makes it very easy to change different scenes. Rather than manually switching 1 by 1. My visitors always gets impressed when I change scenes LOL.

Normally I run the downlights, but when got visit I have a few different scenes especially at my living hall where different config of lights will be used.

Oh yes the E1 are way smaller than D1! Makes it more usable in those less deep sockets. But then again, E1 has much lower rating la, I’m guessing the D1 is more robust? Hopefully 😅.

I have a few switches that I ordered from China for the black casing for D1 too.

So far 20A I’m only looking to use it for my solar heater 🤣sometimes when I turn it on then forget to turn off 😅

I bought one of the new 3 gang Aqara Z1 for testing, very premium build and feel but the relay click is quite noticeable and annoying. After testing...might go for full house conversion. Thing is, my cheapo moes or smatrul switch can barely hear the relay click

not using z2m, but for the make and model i use, long-press on the individual switch's button that i want to (re)name.

Curious.. Why would you want that? Easier to search? Too many switches?
It doesn't matter since once the entity is associated with an automation, can rename the buttons in HA?
I only know how to change it when I create my own external converters.

Ahh.. I see. Shouldn't be a an issue... If got issue just revert back. Whole idea of HA is lots of trial and errors.
Also, maybe you should consider your naming conventions for your devices..simplify them. Acronyms.

Thank you for your reply. As I read from the beginning of this thread and some online materials, most said better to have Neutral for ceiling fan, else will burn the smart switch. Since I'm just a newbie who going to start my smart home journey, I still got lots to learn.

What I did for my 2 way switches is that one of them is a wireless switch on battery. The other is an actual switch. So I just set some rules and viola it works just like 2 way. But nowadays my stairs one I added motion sensor instead ✌🏻

If house follows code, the lighting and 13A or AC will be on different RCCB.

Can anyone enlighten me on Zigbee tech.What zigbee can do and cannot do vs other wireless tech?

By the way off topic,

I just bought a new usb zigbee repeater to extend the mesh on the ground floor. Plugged it in, and then realized that it didnt extend the mesh. Its working of course, but nothing seems to be using it to extend. And coincidentally, the one that i had plugged in up stairs also wasnt extending anything anymore, even though it used to.

So, i rebooted the hub, and both repeaters, but still nothing. Whats happening? Does it need time to figure it out on its own and then route traffic accordingly? Its been a few days, but the network doesnt seem to be using the repeaters, but the child devices all connect to the hub, and some of them say bad network/reception.

Really funny i cant figure it out
