Eh.... still cost you more than tnb.

Njoi/Astro is using 12v x 2A=24w.(according to the adaptor). That require 150whr if run 6hr daily. You need a 65ahr battery and 40w solar panel. With wiring and accessory, that can cost almost rm1k.

50w panel can cost rm150. 65ahr battery cost rm500. Solar charger rm80. Add up the rest,.....

It will never cost lower. Only for hobby.

Benifit is you can have secondary power for backup. And running more stable home automation without tnb supply.

Only with 1 unit 1.5 hp invertor aircond on every night from 830pm to 830am next morning.
Some more with solar water heater and boiling drinking water with gas.
Only extra thing in a normal household is 2 unit of fridges run 24hrs, the rest are quite normal I would say.
My TNB bill also have a statement say 'You're using more than similar homes 77% more electricity than similar homes'
