QUOTE(vl319 @ Aug 24 2022, 10:12 AM) Hi. I would like to ask about neutral wiring for 3-phase. im interested in ur db, can share the photo and the rccb brand/specMy house is 3-phase incoming and the lighting & aircond busbar is served by 1 no 63A 3-phase 100mA RCCB. Power point busbar has its own 63A 3-phase 30mA RCCB. So total has 2 RCCB in my DB. Does it mean that i can loop any netural wire from any nearby lighting point or aircond point to the lighting switch, since they are from same 100mA RCCB? this is my personal opinions...
dont go for capacitor, imagine if u have 20 or 30 switches. when the time capacitor burned, will u still able to remember where u put the capacitor? u might remember now, how about 2years to 5years down the road... or mayb more?? and do u know that u cant use L1 for fluorescent light, and mayb some other devices. |

i also not sure why it doesnt work on fluorescent light.
here just my theory, mayb when the starter ignite the argon/xenon gas. it will pull ALL power from the L1 and might cause the wifi/radio module to be cut off. im not sure how u guyz did it... because of this issue, even im using neutral i do not dare to put all high powered devices on L1... including ceiling fan/motorized/spotlight, etc etc |

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Sep 3 2022, 01:44 PM) sorry i cant answer this...my practice is to avoid sudden high power pull on L1. this is just to protect the wifi/radio module that sharing the power with L1. basically if u r using neutral on the switch, u should be safe. but if possible, i would like to avoid this scenario. just me... as for ceiling fan or any other motorized device... it did pull massive power during starting time. tat why aircon use inverter motor to avoid start stop in between. need review in this cctv options
1. buy nvr with 8ports poe 2. buy 8ports poe switch + own nas server + free cctv aps the problem is my nas is only dual core 1.5ghz, 4gb ram the advantages is, it use only 15watts and in future can add coraltpu |

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Sep 16 2022, 12:46 AM) Better upgrade quad core at least, on dual core with frigate it's gonna spike that cpu even with coral other than frigate, so u know any other local nvr?currently i just wanted to start small... especially low power consumption. will most likely buy 8x 4-5mb camera, but will only record it as 720p 15fps h265. stupid reason for having too many camera 🫣 |

Tested 5mm gap on an empty baseplate, without wiring behind. still the same case. just when screw to the wall, hv to use longer screw. |

QUOTE(brain_cyo @ Oct 5 2022, 02:38 PM) hi folks, normal smart switch can only support 2A to 3A per point.need help with aircond smart switch plan to use aqara for my home for aircond , may i use the 1gang with neutral smart switch? u need a proper switch capable at least 20A for aircond. I did saw some ppl use the power socket with smart switch, those smart power plug have max of 16A, barely enuf... quote from internet... QUOTE Depending on the BTU capacity amp requirements can range from 15 to 45 amps. brain_cyo liked this post

QUOTE(Kiding @ Oct 5 2022, 11:22 PM) 16A is good enough, 240V x 16A = 3.8kW, I hardly see any aircon requires such high power, my 1.5HP inverter running at full speed only uses around 1kW. wow 👍🏻i didnt know this, anyway i just use normal 20A switch without smart. haha coz sonoff didnt have 20A smart switch... hopefully they release it in the future. |

QUOTE(tongyk @ Oct 6 2022, 04:23 PM) There is you can refer to this seller, I bought 20A from them. they have 16A & 20A i dont think i want this meter + switchhttps://shopee.com.my/product/51127663/20651058025/ coz the control will be at the db box 😅 prefer more conventional way where the switch is located at the room itself |

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Oct 6 2022, 06:21 PM) For house renovation - my 2cents1) Pull neutral wire to existing switches & new switches 2) Extend ethernet cable to all areas that you might wanna install poe ip camera or just add router for mesh wifi 3) Maybe add some extra neutral/cable for later use like you need to make diy sensors that’s directly wired 4) Smart glass? I see some post a few months about adding smart film to glass windows that goes full visible when the relay’s on 5) Maybe plan to dig some extra holes on the ceiling? Seen some ideas by other people that mount smart speakers up top. There’s also tuya radar presence sensor in the form of downlight. Tuya already has google skills integration, since you’re on android it’s google assistant by default. Can just call google anytime even when phone locked 1. totally agreed one the neutral cable, u will not regret it. ☺️ 2. as for network cabling, it is very important... more important than ur mesh wifi. U only need mesh wifi if you didnt pull network cable. The wifi roaming is depend on your clients not AP (dont use d-link, some of their switch didnt support roaming protocol) 3. As for network cable, pls choose CAT6, no need CAT6A or above unless u r loaded. If you wish to have PoE for cctv camera, make sure the cable is 23AWG and the keystone is also supporting 23AWG. if u use 24AWG, the power will reduced as distance increase. 4. dont choose cheap wifi ap, if u have too many IoT devices that use wifi, u will cry (zigbee is okay). Can considered enterprise grade ap even if u dont have money. hahaha 5. The power socket, mayb u want to invest the power socket that come with usb TYPE B + TYPE C. 6. If u r not using HomeAssistant, use only 1 brand for cloud app. Imagine u have light switch, smart door, curtain, etc all using different brand. (tips u can use alexa/google home for integration... but it still troublesome) |
